[Termes IGN] surveillance géologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) This paper provides a review of ground-based SAR (GBSAR) interferometry for deformation measurement. In the first part of the paper the fundamentals of this technique are provided. Then the main data processing and analysis stages needed to estimate deformations starting from the GBSAR observations are described. This section introduces the two types of GBSAR acquisition modes, i.e., continuous and discontinuous GBSAR, and reviews the different GBSAR processing and analysis methods published in the literature. This is followed by a discussion of the specific technical aspects of GBSAR deformation measurement. A section then summarizes the pros and cons of GBSAR for deformation monitoring. The last part of the paper includes two reviews: one concerning the GBSAR systems described in the literature, including non-strictly SAR systems and a second one addresses the main GBSAR applications. [Termes IGN] résiduRésumé : (Auteur) This paper is focused on the potential and limits of Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSi), a powerful remote sensing technique used to measure deformation phenomena. It only refers to satellite-based PSI techniques, focusing on the most important sources of C-band SAR data: ers and Envisat. In addition, it compares C- and X-band results, considering data from the high-resolution TerraSAR-X sensor. The paper begins with a description of the main characteristics of PSI. It then discusses the most important PSI products and their performances, analyzing their spatial sampling, the so-called residual topographic error and PSI geocoding, the average displacement rates, and the deformation time series. As C-band products are concerned, the paper reports some relevant PSI validation results, which come from the ESA-funded Terrafirma Validation Project. Regarding the X-band, it describes the results obtained over the City of Barcelona by processing 13 TerraSAR-X images. The last part discusses the main limits of PSI. [Termes IGN] surveillance géologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The differential interferometric SAR (DInSAR) technique has proved its capability to detect small surface deformations in several types of applications. In this paper, its use as a quantitative subsidence monitoring tool is addressed to. A complete procedure is described, giving emphasis to the algorithms that have a major impact on the quality of the DInSAR results : the calibration of the InSAR geometry based on ground control points, which guarantees a high accuracy of the InSAR geometric model ; a filtering procedure suitable to reduce the atmospheric effects in small-scale subsidences; and a data fusion procedure for multiple observations, which represents a key step to improve the quality of the DInSAR products. The procedure was used in the analysis of a small-scale urban subsidence located in Catalonia, northeastern Spain. The validation of the results, which was based on the comparison with precise and independent reference data, is discussed in detail. [Termes IGN] point d'appuiRésumé : Auteur) A complete interferometric SAR (InSAR) procedure for the generation of digital elevation models (DEMs) is described, stressing the InSAR geometric aspects. A new approach to transform the interferometric phases to terrain heights is presented, which aims at achieving an accurate geocoding of the InSARgenerated DEMs. It is based on a rigorous model that connects image space to object space and on a least squares (LS) calibration of the InSAR geometry with ground control points (GCPs). The procedure may include the fusion of data coming from ascending and descending pairs of SAR images. For this purpose, a simultaneous calibration of the geometry of different InSAR pairs is proposed. It allows reducing the number of required GCPs using tie points, in analogy with the photogrammetric procedures. The validation of two DEMs, one coming from an ascending ERS1 SAR pair and the other one derived by fusion of ascending and descending ERS1 data, is described paying attention to the atmospheric effects on the generated DEMs. Numéro de notice : A2002-296 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/S0924-2716(02)00107-7 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1016/S0924-2716(02)00107-7 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=80418
