[Termes IGN] station GNSSRésumé : (auteur) To remove atmospheric pressure loading (ATML) effect from GNSS coordinate time series, surface pressure (SP) models are required to predict the displacements. In this paper, we modeled the 3D ATML surface displacements using the latest MERRA-2 SP grids, together with four other products (NCEP-R-1, NCEP-R-2, ERA-Interim and MERRA) for 596 globally distributed GNSS stations, and compared them with ITRF2014 residual time series. The five sets of ATML displacements are highly consistent with each other, particularly for those stations far away from coasts, of which the lowest correlations in the Up component for all the four models w.r.t MERRA-2 become larger than 0.91. ERA-Interim-derived ATML displacement performs best in reducing scatter of the GNSS height for 90.3% of the stations (89.3% for NCEP-R-1, 89.1% for NCEP-R-2, 86.4% for MERRA and 85.1% for MERRA-2). We think that this may be possibly due to the 4D variational data assimilation method applied. Considering inland stations only, more than 96% exhibit WRMS reduction in the Up direction for all five models, with an average improvement of 3–4% compared with the original ITRF2014 residual time series before ATML correction. Most stations (> 67%) also exhibit horizontal WRMS reductions based on the five models, but of small magnitudes, with most improvements (> 76%) less than 5%. In particular, most stations in South America, South Africa, Oceania and the Southern Oceans show larger WRMS reductions with MERRA-2, while all other four SP datasets lead to larger WRMS reduction for the Up component than MERRA-2 in Europe. Through comparison of the daily pressure variation from the five SP models, we conclude that the bigger model differences in the SP-induced surface displacements and their impacts on the ITRF2014 residuals for coastal/island stations are mainly due to the IB correction based on the different land–sea masks. A unique high spatial resolution land–sea mask should be applied in the future, so that model differences would come from only SP grids. Further research is also required to compare the ATML effect in ice-covered and high mountainous regions, for example the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau in China, the Andes in South America, etc., where larger pressure differences between models tend to occur. Instead of the analysis of the calibration errors on the carrier phase leveled to code ionospheric observable, we focus on the accuracy analysis of the undifferenced ambiguity-fixed carrier phase ionospheric observable determined from a global distribution of permanent receivers. The results achieved are: (1) using data from an entire month within the last solar cycle maximum, the undifferenced ambiguity-fixed carrier phase ionospheric observable is found to be over one order of magnitude more accurate than the carrier phase leveled to code ionospheric observable and the raw code ionospheric observable. The observation error of the undifferenced ambiguity-fixed carrier phase ionospheric observable ranges from 0.05 to 0.11 total electron content unit (TECU) while that of the carrier phase leveled to code and the raw code ionospheric observable is from 0.65 to 1.65 and 3.14 to 7.48 TECU, respectively. (2) The time-varying receiver differential code bias (DCB), which presents clear day boundary discontinuity and intra-day variability pattern, contributes the most part of the observation error. This contribution is assessed by the short-term stability of the between-receiver DCB, which ranges from 0.06 to 0.17 TECU in a single day. (3) The remaining part of the observation errors presents a sidereal time cycle pattern, indicating the effects of the multipath. Further, the magnitude of the remaining part implies that the code multipath effects are much reduced. (4) The intra-day variation of the between-receiver DCB of the collocated stations suggests that estimating DCBs as a daily constant can have a mis-modeling error of at least several tenths of 1 TECU. [Termes IGN] varianceRésumé : (Auteur) Change detection was one of the earliest and is also one of the most important applications of remote sensing technology. For multispectral images, an effective solution for the change detection problem is to exploit all the available spectral bands to detect the spectral changes. However, in practice, the temporal spectral variance makes it difficult to separate changes and nonchanges. In this paper, we propose a novel slow feature analysis (SFA) algorithm for change detection. Compared with changed pixels, the unchanged ones should be spectrally invariant and varying slowly across the multitemporal images. SFA extracts the most temporally invariant component from the multitemporal images to transform the data into a new feature space. In this feature space, the differences in the unchanged pixels are suppressed so that the changed pixels can be better separated. Three SFA change detection approaches, comprising unsupervised SFA, supervised SFA, and iterative SFA, are constructed. Experiments on two groups of real Enhanced Thematic Mapper data sets show that our proposed method performs better in detecting changes than the other state-of-the-art change detection methods.
