In this article, a new and simple boundary-based method is proposed for ground-point filtering from the photogrammetric point-cloud data. The proposed method uses the local height difference to extract the boundaries of objects. Then the extracted boundary points are traced to generate polygons around the borders of any objects on the ground. Finally, the points located inside these polygons, which are classified as non-ground points, are filtered. The experimental results on the photogrammetric point cloud show that the proposed method can adapt to complex environments. The total error of the proposed method is about 8.96%, which is promising in these challenging data sets. Moreover, the proposed method is compared with cloth simulation filtering, multi-scale curvature classification, and gLiDAR methods and gives better results. [Termes IGN] scène urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) Mobile lidar scanning is one of the recent technologies that is used to map street scenes rapidly. Among street objects, utility-poles are more critical to energy companies to monitor regularly through time. This paper presents a novel approach to detect utility-poles from mobile lidar data in complex city scenes. After removing ground points, the scene is gridded into blocks based on a shared-partitioning algorithm. Next, an interwoven column generation algorithm is used to create columns. Finally, each of these columns is considered to be a utility-pole or not. The proposed algorithm is tested on two test areas. The algorithm achieved Completeness, Correctness and Quality of 92.8%, 97.5% and 90.6% in Area 1, and 92.8%, 92.2% and 86.1% in Area 2. The total number of utility-poles in both areas was 265. The algorithm shows promising results in utility-pole detection in complex city scenes with attached walls. [Termes IGN] modèle dynamiqueRésumé : (Auteur) A constrained integrated total Kalman filter algorithm is developed. It considers a quadratic constraint which may appear in some problems of integrated direct geo-referencing in particular when INS data is used as system equations of a Kalman filter algorithm. In such a case one encounters with a dynamic errors-in-variables (DEIV) model for system equations, although DEIV model has been already considered for equations of the Kalman filter algorithm and a solution namely integrated total Kalman filter (ITKF) has been given to it. Also this algorithm can be simplified to unconstraint case which is useful for some problems. It considers DEIV model for both observation equations and system equations of the Kalman filter algorithm. The predicted residuals for all variables including the random noise at the first epoch, the observational noise, the random system noise and the corresponding noise of two coefficient matrixes (in the system equations and the observation equations) besides the variance matrix of the unknown parameters are obtained. In two numerical examples, integrated direct geo-referencing problem is solved for a GPS-INS system. [Termes IGN] modélisation 3DRésumé : (Auteur) There exist a number of techniques which are used to produce stereo panoramas, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, a new stereo-panorama generating system is presented which uses off-the-shelf stereo cameras. In addition to stereoviewing, the system offers the possibility of making geometric measurements. The benefits of such a system are: (a) overcoming the effects of moving objects in the images; (b) increased automation of matching and stitching; (c) simple geometric information extraction; and (d) equal resolution over the whole stereo panorama. The structure of the system is described, including system implementation, calibration, stereo-panorama generation, georeferencing, co-registration of multiple panoramas and 3D measurements. In addition, an experiment to evaluate the capability of the system in modelling 3D environments is reported. Evaluation results show that the system can produce a suitable 3D panoramic environment for the simultaneous 3D visualisation and measurement of objects, especially in urban areas.
