[Termes IGN] modèle par fonctions rationnellesRésumé : (Auteur) ZiYuan-3 (ZY-3), the first Chinese civilian stereo mapping satellite, suffers from 0.67 Hz satellite jitter that deteriorates its geometric performance in mapping, resource monitoring and other applications. This paper proposes a distortion correction method based on virtual steady reimaging (VSRI) using attitude data to eliminate the negative influence caused by satellite jitter in satellite data preprocessing. VSRI helps linear array pushbroom cameras rescan the ground with a uniform integral time and smooth attitude. In this method, a VSRI model is proposed, and the geometric relationship between the original and corrected image is determined in terms of geolocation consistency based on a rigorous geometric model. Thus, the corrected image is obtained by resampling from the original one. Three areas of ZY-3 three-line images suffering from satellite jitter were used to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method. First, different attitude interpolation methods were compared. It is found that the Lagrange polynomial model and the cubic piecewise polynomial model have higher interpolation accuracy for original imagery. Then, the replacement accuracy of the rational function model (RFM) for ZY-3 was analyzed with 0.67 Hz satellite jitter. The results indicate that attitude oscillation reduces the fitting precision of the RFM for the rigorous imaging model. Finally, the relative orientation accuracy of the three-line images and the geo-positioning accuracy with ground control points (GCPs) before and after distortion correction were compared. The results show that the distortion caused by satellite jitter is corrected efficiently, and the accuracy of the three experimental datasets is improved in both the image space and the ground space. [Termes IGN] interféromètreRésumé : (Auteur) Recently, miniaturised hyperspectral sensors operable from small unmanned airborne vehicle platforms have entered the market. The emerging hyperspectral imaging technologies, based on frame cameras and tuneable filters, are attractive alternatives to hyperspectral pushbroom sensors. This paper addresses the geometric calibration process of a hyperspectral frame camera based on a Fabry–Perot interferometer. However, the addition of more optical elements in front of the image sensor can affect the parameters related to the internal geometry of the camera, and a deficiency in knowledge regarding these parameters can have a critical effect on the accuracy of 3D measurements in photogrammetric applications. The experiments focused on assessing the self-calibrating bundle adjustment to verify the behaviour of the interior parameters, considering different spectral bands. The results indicated that the applied self-calibration method can accurately characterise the interior parameters of this camera and that one set of parameters is required for each internal sensor. Satellite remote sensing imagery provides an effective way to collect critical information. Natural hazards, however, often have large impact areas – larger than a single satellite scene. Additionally, the hazard impact area may be discontinuous, particularly in flooding or tornado hazard events. In this paper, a spatial optimization model is proposed to solve the large area satellite image acquisition planning problem in the context of hazard emergency response. In the model, a large hazard impact area is represented as multiple polygons and image collection priorities for different portion of impact area are addressed. The optimization problem is solved with an exact algorithm. Application results demonstrate that the proposed method can address the satellite image acquisition planning problem. A spatial decision support system supporting the optimization model was developed. Several examples of image acquisition problems are used to demonstrate the complexity of the problem and derive optimized solutions. [Termes IGN] radar imageurRésumé : (Auteur) This paper reports the first use of a multifrequency range imaging (RIM) technique for observing E-region field-aligned irregularities (FAIs) in the midlatitude ionosphere. The Middle and Upper atmosphere Radar (MUR; 34.85°N, 136.10°E) was used to conduct experiments with five equally spaced frequencies between 46.25 and 46.75 MHz. Three types of RIM data were examined: data with 13-element binary Barker codes, with 16-element binary complementary codes, and without phase codes. Moreover, two calibration approaches were adopted to validate the applicability of the RIM technique, which functioned as intended. Excellent RIM performance such as the ability to resolve several striations in an echo region of FAIs was demonstrated. However, sidelobe echoes caused by pulse coding mechanisms were occasionally observed at altitudes above and below the source regions in the coded data. Therefore, a procedure was developed according to one of the calibration approaches to identify and remove such kind of sidelobe echoes, which was shown to be applicable for the complementary-coded data. In addition to FAIs, a thin plasma layer with a thickness of approximately 1 km was identified as being structured with some tilted finer structures, which could not be observed in the original intensity images with a range resolution of 600 m. Preliminary estimates of the Doppler velocities indicated that a wind shear effect could be the cause of such tilted finer structures.
