[Termes IGN] théorie de Dempster-ShaferRésumé : (auteur) Land-use and land-cover change modeling helps us to understand the driving factors and impacts of human-induced land changes better, and depict likely future development paths. Uncertainty associated with various steps in the modeling process substantially influences the reliability of the results, but until now it has only rarely been addressed. In this study, we explore uncertainty in land-change modeling using a probabilistic approach based on Bayesian belief networks. We apply this approach to a case study of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon and identify three modeling steps as sources of uncertainty: model structure, variable selection, and data preprocessing. For these three steps, we quantify the uncertainty and the respective impact on the outcome accuracy. The results indicate remarkable uncertainties in each of the steps. We demonstrate that a higher uncertainty in the land-change modeling process does not necessarily lead to a lower accuracy of the modeling outcome. Moreover, we show that the different uncertainty sources only slightly influence the ratio between quantity disagreement and allocation disagreement for the modeling outcome. We conclude that uncertainty is inherent in land-change modeling, and that future studies should address this uncertainty more explicitly to improve the robustness of modeling outcomes for science and decision-making. The information is collected so that to identify obstacles and interesting corridors: locations of animals and topographical databases describing the spatial environment. The aim of this research is to simulate fauna movement into spatial areas, both in a real context then in a context modified by infrastructures. We start by analysing the collected movement data and the influence of landscape elements on three species: the red fox, the roe deer and the red deer. The perception of space is different, depending on the species and on the type of environment. As an example, wooded area can be either used for resting or foraging. Then the results of data analyses and knowledge on the species are integrated in a simulation model based on agents. Trajectories are built by taking into account the spatial behaviour of species and the characterization of both obstacles and movement corridors. We finally test the simulation process on a modified area with a road and wildlife infrastructures. We assess the consequences on movements. The model tends to confirm the barrier effect of the motorway even if the effect is reduced by ecological corridors. While the road limits animals’ movements, the corridor favours spatial accessibility and leads to crossings at precise locations. These results highlight the interest of a model in order to assess the efficacy of wildlife preservation such as the measure of “Trame verte et bleue”. [Termes IGN] site archéologiqueRésumé : (auteur) With the increasing availability of data, geoscience provides many methods to model the spatial extent of various phenomena.Acquiring representative, high quality data is the most important criterion to assess the value of any spatial analysis, however, there are many situations in which these criteria cannot be fulfilled. Archived data, collected in the past, for which analysis cannot be repeated or supplemented is a very common information source. Archaeological data collected at a regional extent during years of field work and superficial observations are an additional example. Such data rarely provide representative samples and are usually imbalanced; only very few examples contain useful data, while many examples remain without any archaeological traces. In spite of these limitations archaeological information presented in the form of maps can be a useful and helpful tool to analyse the spatial patterns of some phenomena and, from a more practical point of view, a tool to predict the location of undiscovered occurrences. The primary goal of this paper is to present a methodology for modelling spatial patterns based on imbalanced categorical data which do not fulfil the criteria of spatial representation and incorporates uncertainty in its decision process. This concept will be discussed using a collection of Stone Age sites and set of environmental variables from the postglacial lowlands in Western Poland. We will propose a machine-learning system which adopts CART through bootstrap simulation to incorporate uncertainty into the spatial model and utilise that uncertainty in the decision-making process. Finally, we will describe the relationships between the model and environmental variables and present our results in cartographic form using the principles of decision-tree cartography. [Termes IGN] téléphonie mobileRésumé : (auteur) This paper is an output of a French national project called iSpace&Time aiming to provide a 4 dimensional platform of an urban dynamics. In order to express the urban traffic, we took an advantage of the mobile phone data to investigate the behavior of the origin destination flow within the Paris and its suburb aiming to explore the different mode of the transportation. Indeed the spatiotemporal heterogeneities of mobile phone data make the task of mode of transportation separation very challenging, sometimes even impossible. Thus, by exploring the OD matrix in order to revealing any probable continues trends or any dominant trace of the flow stating a specific mode of transportation, the commuter trains happened to be somehow detectable. Then an individual-based step-by-step approach is proposed to estimate mode of transportation from mobile phone data. Analyzing the individual trajectory, the decision is given to a segment level with respect to different measures. An early promising outcome consists of detection of the segments in which people would take the metro. Note de contenu : Introduction
