This article investigates location-based join algorithms for integration of several data sets. First, algorithms for integration of two data sets are presented and their performances, in terms of recall and precision, are compared. Then, two approaches for integration of more than two data sets are described. In one approach, all the integrated data sets are processed simultaneously. In the second approach, a join algorithm for two data sets is applied sequentially, either in a serial manner, where in each join at least one of the joined data sets is a single source, or in a hierarchical manner, where two join results can be joined. For the two approaches, join algorithms are given. The algorithms are designed to perform well even when location of objects are imprecise and each data set represents only some of the real-world entities. Results of extensive experiments with the different approaches are provided and analyzed. The experiments show the differences, in accuracy and efficiency, between the approaches, under different circumstances. The results also show that all our algorithms have much better accuracy than applying the commonly used one-sided nearest-neighbor join. The focus of this paper is data quality in UGSC. An important notion both to improve quality during production, and to help in providing quality metadata for users is that of specifications. They are the most detailed available source of knowledge about geographic databases content (Abadie, 2009). The rest of this paper will discuss important definitions and related work concerning quality in User Generated Content (UGC) and user generated spatial content UGSC. Then, an approach to qualify UGSC is proposed, based on specifications. Finally, our conclusions and perspectives are presented. Each stereopair can encompass an area up to 600 km x 120 km within a single pass (i.e. 72 000 km² stereoscopic strips). From this time, SPOT 5 stereoscopic imagery becomes one of main satellite data sources for accurate DEM extraction. Spot Image and French National Cartographic Institute (IGN) decided in 2002 to design and build a worldwide accurate database called Reference3D™ using HRS data. This database consists of three information layers: Digital Elevation Model at 1-arc-second resolution (DTED level 2), Orthoimage at 5m resolution and Quality Masks. Huge efforts have been made to standardize the process in order to offer affordable prices. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Auteur) Current database systems cannot only store standard data like integer, string, and real values, but also spatial data like points, lines, and regions. The importance of topological relationships between spatial objects has been recognized a long time ago. Using the well known 9-intersection model for describing such relationships, a lot of different topological relationships can be distinguished. For the query language of a database system, it is not desirable to have such a large number of topological predicates. Particularly the query language should not be extended by a lot of predicate names. It is desirable to build new relationships from existing ones, for example to coarse the granularity. This paper describes how a database system user can define and use her own topological predicates. We show algorithms for computing such predicates in an efficient way. Last, we compare these general versions with specialized implementations of topological predicates.
