[Termes IGN] système d'information foncièreRésumé : (auteur) The fit-for-purpose rural cadastre has been implemented for several years in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. There are no internationally accepted methodologies to evaluate the efficacy of rural cadastral systems in developing countries. In this study, an evaluation framework was designed from the literature review and used to assess the quality of the rural cadastral system. A mixed research method was applied. Data were secured from the pertinent participants, and descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data. The findings indicated that the framework developed for the quality assessment was found to be an essential tool to evaluate the efficacy of rural cadastral systems. The study identified the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the cadastral systems of the Amhara region, which underpinned the understanding of the spatial, legal, and institutional arrangements and statuses. Further, this study identified sets of indicators and good practices of the system. [Termes IGN] SlovaquieRésumé : (auteur) One of the biggest problems in the Slovak cadastre is the quality of maps. Approximately half of them require a new mapping. The quality of the other half is also not high, and they include local shifts. The paper deals with a proposal for a new way of their renewal—Cadastral Operate Renewal by Correction (RbC). This process is based on a transformation of the part of the map with local shifts using a new GNSS measurement. The process has three main stages—homogeneity analysis, transformation, and final control. The result of the RbC process is a renewed cadastral map without any local shifts. Another goal of this paper is to test this process in a chosen cadastral unit and to analyse the results. If the testing is successful, this process could be a fast and cheap alternative to a new mapping in case of these cadastral maps with local shifts. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) In Turkey, during the realisation of the land registry and cadastre transactions, manually checking the official documents exceeding 20 million annually causes some problems in document management and security. This study focuses on managing the official documents as online requested by the land registry and cadastre directorates from the other institutions during these transactions. Therefore, a general external data model based on the LADM has been proposed to manage requested documents during transactions. If web-based applications support the proposed model, access to documents will be faster and easier, and security risk will be reduced. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (auteur) Cadastral maps, which are designed as comprehensive systems for recording and surveying land relations, are critical for making society legible and governable. However, critical cartography scholarship suggests that exercising power through maps is not straightforward: It is dependent on how maps are created and used during the mapping process. This paper examines cadastral mapping in Jigjiga, a multi-ethnic city in the Ethiopian Somali frontier where state authority over land and people have long been contested among ethnic Somali residents. This paper follows the ruling government’s renewed attempt to establish land control through spatial planning based on document analysis and ethnographic fieldwork. It investigates how urban planners enclose the city’s property landscape cartographically on land use maps and how land surveyors used these maps to georeference property. It demonstrates the critical role of land governance experts in navigating the simplified map and a complex property landscape on the ground. Cadastral mapping is instrumental for state territorialization and land commodification, integrating ethnic Somali property into the sedentary logic of the state. Rather than providing an account of how property is rendered legible, this paper highlights the incomplete and open-ended character of cadastral mapping in the constitution of private property regimes. One of the biggest problem is the land share calculation. The aim of this study was to establish a mechanism by which the properties of the factors affecting the value can be determined mathematically and to arrive at a value-based land share. For this purpose, the study utilized a 3D virtual Building Information Modelling (BIM) model. The value factors and weights were determined via a questionnaire, 3D BIM model of the structure was created, metric values of the factors were calculated and the nominal values of the condominium units were calculated. This study demonstrate that a building nonexistent in the real world can be represented in a virtual environment and comparable information source can be presented to the expert who will carry out the valuation process.
