[Termes IGN] Pays-BasRésumé : (Auteur) This paper describes current developments in the Netherlands to come to National standards for the use and exchange of Spatial Information. Current increased use of internet techniques and electronic information exchange created the need for standardised methods in communication. The basic concepts date back to 1995 when the Dutch National Standard NEN3610, the "real estate information model" was accepted by the Dutch National Normalisation Organisation. The model was accompanied by a standard exchange format NEN1878 still based on the classical concepts of "punch card" formatted files. The last few years, several developments took place which led a call for updating these standards. Most important were the activities to encourage Dutch municipalities to make spatial plans digital exchangeable according the Information Model for Spatial Planning (IMRO), closely related to NEN3610. Secondly the efforts of the ministry of Agriculture to set up an information model for the so-called "Green Space"(everything except urban areas). [Termes IGN] XSLTRésumé : (Auteur) Introduction of Geography Markup Language (GML) has opened new opportunities for creating integrated cross-border spatial data services. As an XML application, GML facilitates data integration by providing open, vendor-independent syntax for encoding spatial data. However, individual GML application schemas are inherently dependent on the local data content and thus vary from country to country. Those differences are also reflected in the corresponding Web Feature Service (WFS) queries. Consequently, a cross-border data service must support two-way transformations : those applied to incoming queries and those carried out on the delivered dataset. As the traffic in both directions is encoded in XML syntax, the same techniques can be employed in both tasks. In this paper, an approach based on a general-purpose XML processing tool, XSL Transformation (XSLT), is proposed and first experiences gained from a four-nation cross-border prototype service are described. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) To provide integrated access to various distributed geo-information sources, we have developed components as an extension to existing GIS application called GINIS. This application development framework is part of GeoNis framework for interoperability of GIS applications. The GINIS has an object-oriented architecture that is based on modern software component technologies. This paper describes platform and component based application that provide acess to various geo-information sources. Proposed component architecture completely separates representation of geodata from data stores. This kind of architecture can be re-used in different GIS applications.
