[Termes IGN] précision géométrique (imagerie)Résumé : (Auteur) Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are traditionally acquired from a stereo pair of aerial photographs sequentially captured by an airborne metric camera. Standard DEM extraction techniques can be naturally extended to satellite imagery, but the particular characteristics of satellite imaging can cause difficulties. The spacecraft ephemeris with respect to the ground site during image collects is the most important factor in the elevation extraction process. When the angle of separation between the stereo images is small, the extraction process typically produces measurements with low accuracy, while a large angle of separation can cause an excessive number of erroneous points in the DEM from occlusion of ground areas. The use of three or more images registered to the same ground area can potentially reduce these problems and improve the accuracy of the extracted DEM. The pointing capability of some sensors, such as the Multispectral Thermal Imager (MTI), allows for multiple collects of the same area from different perspectives. This functionality of MTI makes it a good candidate for the implementation of a DEM extraction algorithm using multiple images for improved accuracy. Evaluation of this capability and development of algorithms to geometrically model the MTI sensor and extract DEMs from multi-look MTI imagery are described in this paper. An RMS elevation error of 6.3-meters is achieved using 11 ground test points, while the MTI band has a 5-meter ground sample distance. [Termes IGN] tâche image d'un pointRésumé : (Auteur) Light scattering in fore-optics of imaging radiometric instruments degrades images, the signal of dark pixels is enhanced and that of bright pixels is reduced. A procedure of restoring hemispherical images obtained with a hemispheric view CCD-radiometer is suggested. The circular hemispheric image is projected onto the sphere and Wiener filtering on the sphere is performed. For building the Wiener filter the point spread function of the instrument was measured in the laboratory, and test images of (partially) controlled radiance were measured. The procedure is applied for the correction of hemispherical radiometric images taken under forest canopy. In non-corrected near infrared images the signal of sky pixels in forest canopy gaps near zenith is enhanced 1.4–2.0 times. The applied correction reduces this error to the level of 1.1–1.2. In the red channel these figures are 0.8–0.9 and 0.97–0.99, respectively. [Termes IGN] tâche image d'un pointRésumé : (Auteur) Efficient and accurate imaging spectroscopy data processing asks for perfectly consistent (i.e., ideally uniform) data in both the spectral and spatial dimensions. However, real pushbroom-type imaging spectrometers are affected by various point spread function (PSF) nonuniformity artifacts. First, individual pixels or lines may be missing in the raw data due to bad pixels originating from the detector, readout errors, or even electronic failures. Second, so-called smile and keystone optical aberrations are inherent to imaging spectrometers. Appropriate resampling strategies are required for the preprocessing of such data if emphasis is put on spatial PSF uniformity. So far, nearest neighbour interpolations have been often recommended and used for resampling. This paper shall analyze the radiometric effects if linear interpolation is used to optimize the spatial PSF uniformity. For modeling interpolation effects, an extensive library of measured surface reflectance spectra as well as real imaging spectroscopy data over various land cover types are used. The real measurements are systematically replaced by interpolated values, and the deviation between original and resampled spectra is taken as a quality measure. The effects of nearest neighbour resampling and linear interpolation methods are compared. It is found that linear interpolation methods lead to average radiometric errors below 2% for the correction of spatial PSF nonuniformity in the subpixel domain, whereas the replacement of missing pixels leads to average errors in the range of 10%-20%. [Termes IGN] reconstruction 3DRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we present an automatic method for the 3D building reconstruction from satellite images. The proposed approach consists in reconstructing buildings by assembling simple urban structures extracted from a grammar of 3D parametric models, as a "LEGO" game. First, the building footprints are extracted through sequences of quadrilaterals: it allows to define the problem as a causal process. Then, the 3D reconstruction stage is realized through a Hidden Markov Model and the optimal sequences of 3D parametric objects are found using the Viterbi algorithm. Note de contenu : I Introduction
