[Termes IGN] topographieRésumé : (auteur) A gap exists in law and practice with respect to calibrating terrestrial laser scanners (TLS) for legal boundary surveying. Laws, calibration infrastructure and calibration procedures have long existed for electronic distance measurement units used for boundary surveys, but laser scanners present new challenges. The aim of this paper is to present a practical, inexpensive procedure for validating laser scanner calibration and for verifying surface information extracted from terrestrial laser scanner data. The methodology verifies the TLS calibration parameters and extracted surfaces using total station measurements. The results indicate that total stations and TLS are complimentary tools and should both be used where complicated 3D boundaries exist. [Termes IGN] zone équatorialeRésumé : (auteur) Ionospheric scintillation causes rapid fluctuations of measurements from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs), thus threatening space-based communication and geolocation services. The phenomenon is most intense in equatorial regions, around the equinoxes and in maximum solar cycle conditions. Currently, ionospheric scintillation monitoring receivers (ISMRs) measure scintillation with high-pass filter algorithms involving high sampling rates, e.g. 50 Hz, and highly stable clocks, e.g. an ultra-low-noise Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator. The present paper evolves phase scintillation indices implemented in conventional geodetic receivers with sampling rates of 1 Hz and rapidly fluctuating clocks. The method is capable to mitigate ISMR artefacts that contaminate the readings of the state-of-the-art phase scintillation index. Our results agree in more than 99.9% within ± 0.05 rad (2 mm) of the ISMRs, with a data set of 8 days which include periods of moderate and strong scintillation. The discrepancies are clearly identified, being associated with data gaps and to cycle-slips in the carrier-phase tracking of ISMR that occur simultaneously with ionospheric scintillation. The technique opens the door to use huge databases available from the International GNSS Service and other centres for scintillation studies. This involves GNSS measurements from hundreds of worldwide-distributed geodetic receivers over more than one Solar Cycle. This overcomes the current limitations of scintillation studies using ISMRs, as only a few tens of ISMRs are available and their data are provided just for short periods of time. [Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (auteur) With the development of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), multi-GNSS is expected to greatly benefit precise point positioning (PPP), especially during the outage of real time service (RTS). In this paper, we focus on the performance of multi-GNSS satellite clock prediction and its application in real-time PPP. Based on the statistical analysis of multi-system satellite clock products, a model consisting of polynomial and periodic terms is employed for multi-system satellite clock prediction. To evaluate the method proposed, both post-processed and real-time satellite clock products are employed in simulated real-time processing mode. The results show that the accuracy of satellite clock prediction is related to atomic clock type and satellite type. For GPS satellites, the average standard deviations (STDs) of Cs atomic clocks will reach as high as 0.65 ns while the STD of Rb atomic clocks is only about 0.15 ns. As for BDS and Galileo, the average STD of 2-hour satellite clock prediction are 0.30 ns and 0.06 ns, respectively. In addition, it is validated that real-time PPP can still achieve positioning accuracy of one to three decimeters by using products of 2-hour satellite clock prediction. Moreover, compared to the results of GPS-only PPP, multi-system can greatly enhance the accuracy of real-time PPP from 12.5% to 18.5% in different situations. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) This paper describes a non-contact methodology for computing river discharge based on data collected from small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS). The approach is complete in that both surface velocity and channel geometry are measured directly under field conditions. The technique does not require introducing artificial tracer particles for computing surface velocity, nor does it rely upon the presence of naturally occurring floating material. Moreover, no prior knowledge of river bathymetry is necessary. Due to the weight of the sensors and limited payload capacities of the commercially available sUAS used in the study, two sUAS were required. The first sUAS included mid-wave thermal infrared and visible cameras. For the field evaluation described herein, a thermal image time series was acquired and a particle image velocimetry (PIV) algorithm used to track the motion of structures expressed at the water surface as small differences in temperature. The ability to detect these thermal features was significant because the water surface lacked floating material (e.g., foam, debris) that could have been detected with a visible camera and used to perform conventional Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV). The second sUAS was devoted to measuring bathymetry with a novel scanning polarizing lidar. We collected field measurements along two channel transects to assess the accuracy of the remotely sensed velocities, depths, and discharges. Thermal PIV provided velocities that agreed closely ( R2 = 0.82 and 0.64) with in situ velocity measurements from an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). Depths inferred from the lidar closely matched those surveyed by wading in the shallower of the two cross sections ( R2 = 0.95), but the agreement was not as strong for the transect with greater depths ( R2 = 0.61). Incremental discharges computed with the remotely sensed velocities and depths were greater than corresponding ADCP measurements by 22% at the first cross section and Numéro de notice : A2019-554 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.3390/rs11192317 Date de publication en ligne : 05/10/2019 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/rs11192317 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=94207
