[Termes IGN] ToulouseRésumé : (Auteur) The HYEP project (ANR HYEP 14-CE22-0016-01 Hyperspectral imagery for Environmental urban Planning - Mobility and Urban Systems Programme - 2014) confirmed the interest of a global approach to the urban environment by remote sensing and in particular by using hyperspectral imaging (HI). The interest of hyperspectral images lies in the range of information provided over wavelengths from 0.4 to 4 μm; they thus provide access to spectral quantities of interest and to chemical or biophysical parameters of the surface. HYEP's objective was to specify this and to propose a panel of methods and treatments taking into account the characteristics of other existing sensors in order to compare their performance. The developments carried out were applied and evaluated on hyperspectral airborne images acquired in Toulouse and Kaunas (Lithuania), also used to synthesize space systems: Sentinel-2, Hypxim/Biodiversity and Pleiades. Among the locks identified were those related to improving the spatial capabilities of the sensors and spatial scale changes, which were partially overcome by fusion and sharpening approaches, which proved to be successful. After a description of our hyperspectral data set acquired over Toulouse, an analysis is conducted on several existing and accessible spectral databases. Then, the chosen methods are presented. They include extraction, fusion and classification methods, which are then applied on our dataset synthetized at different spatial resolution to evaluate the benefits and the complementarity of hyperspectral imagery in comparison with other traditional sensors. Some specific applications are investigated of interest for urban planners: impervious soil map, vegetation species cartography and detection of solar panels. Finally, discussion and perspectives are presented. Spectral Mixture Analysis (SMA) and its extensions are widely employed in impervious surface estimation from medium-resolution images. For SMA, inappropriate endmember combinations and inadequate endmember classes have been recognized as the primary reasons for estimation errors. Meanwhile, the spectral-only SMA, without considering urban spatial distribution, fails to consider spectral variability in an adequate manner. The lack of endmember class diversity and their spatial variations lead to over/underestimation. To mitigate these issues, this study integrates a hierarchical strategy and spatially varied endmember spectra to map impervious surface abundance, taking Wuhan and Wuzhou as two study areas. Specifically, the piecewise convex multiple-model endmember detection algorithm is applied to automatically hierarchize images into three regions, and distinct endmember combinations are independently developed in each region. Then, spatially varied endmember spectra are synthesized through neighboring spectra using the distance-based weight. Comparative analysis indicates that the proposed method achieves better performance than Hierarchical SMA and Fixed Four-endmembers SMA in terms of MAE, SE, and RMSE. Further analysis suggests that the hierarchical strategy can expand endmember class types and considerably improve the performance for the study areas in general, specifically in less developed areas. Moreover, we find that spatially varied endmember spectra facilitate the reduction of heterogeneous surface material variations and achieve the improved performance in developed areas. [Termes IGN] modèle numérique de terrainRésumé : (auteur) In this study, a new data-adaptive network design methodology called k-SRBF is presented for the spherical radial basis functions (SRBFs) in regional gravity field modeling. In this methodology, the cluster centers (centroids) obtained by the k-means clustering algorithm are post-processed to construct a network of SRBFs by replacing the centroids with the SRBFs. The post-processing procedure is inspired by the heuristic method, Iterative Self-Organizing Data Analysis Technique (ISODATA), which splits clusters within the user-defined criteria to avoid over- and under-parameterization. These criteria are the minimum spherical distance between the centroids and the minimum number of samples for each cluster. The bandwidth (depth) of each SRBF is determined using the generalized cross-validation (GCV) technique in which only the observations within the radius of impact area (RIA) are used. The numerical tests are carried out with real and simulated data sets to investigate the effect of the user-defined criteria on the network design. Different bandwidth limits are also examined, and the appropriate lower and upper bandwidth limits are chosen based on the empirical signal covariance function and user-defined criteria. Also, additional tests are performed to verify the performance of the proposed methodology in combining different types of observations, such as terrestrial and airborne data available in Colorado. The results reveal that k-SRBF is an effective methodology to establish a data-adaptive network for SRBFs. Moreover, the proposed methodology improves the condition number of normal equation matrix so that the least-squares procedure can be applied without regularization considering the user-defined criteria and bandwidth limits. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) While three-dimensional (3D) building models play an increasingly pivotal role in many real-world applications, obtaining a compact representation of buildings remains an open problem. In this paper, we present a novel framework for reconstructing compact, watertight, polygonal building models from point clouds. Our framework comprises three components: (a) a cell complex is generated via adaptive space partitioning that provides a polyhedral embedding as the candidate set; (b) an implicit field is learned by a deep neural network that facilitates building occupancy estimation; (c) a Markov random field is formulated to extract the outer surface of a building via combinatorial optimization. We evaluate and compare our method with state-of-the-art methods in generic reconstruction, model-based reconstruction, geometry simplification, and primitive assembly. Experiments on both synthetic and real-world point clouds have demonstrated that, with our neural-guided strategy, high-quality building models can be obtained with significant advantages in fidelity, compactness, and computational efficiency. Our method also shows robustness to noise and insufficient measurements, and it can directly generalize from synthetic scans to real-world measurements. Effectués par les élèves de l’ENSG-Géomatique en utilisant les méthodes de photogrammétrie et de scanner laser terrestre, ces relevés ont permis de produire un modèle 3D intérieur et extérieur, mais aussi des produits 2D : coupes, plans, écorchés.
