[Termes IGN] véhicule sans piloteRésumé : (Auteur) This work introduces a Mobile Stereo Mapping System (MSMS) designed for remote operation onboard unmanned vehicles for navigation and rapid collection of 3D spatial data through direct georeferencing and integration of optical and multiple navigation sensors. By avoiding the need for ground control points, the system offers a low-cost mapping solution for both kinematic and static cases, rapid deployments, high data resolutions, and low risk to operators. Position estimation of the camera is based on differential GPS, loosely coupled in a Kalman filter with a low-cost Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Attitude is estimated from gyroscope data, aided by accelerometer and magnetometer data to compensate for gyro drift. Two low-cost consumer digital cameras are calibrated and time-synchronized with the GPS/IMU to provide directly georeferenced stereo imagery. The MSMS determines mapping coordinates using photogrammetric solutions modified for direct georeferencing. A calibration process has been developed for the sensor components and the integrated system itself to determine systematic errors and biases, and to determine the relative geometry of the sensors. Object space accuracies (Root Mean Square Error (RMSE)) in the range of 1/100 at camera-to-object distances of about 30m were achieved using wide baseline overlapping images taken from two separate positions of the stereo-metric MSMS. The system design and the calibration and mapping accuracy of the MSMS are presented and assessed using field testing. [Termes IGN] longueur focaleRésumé : (Auteur) IGN CAMv2 project started in 2006 and is composed of two main steps. At first, a four-channel medium format camera system was developed. The basic element of this new system is a camera head built around the Kodak KAF-39 000, 39 mega-pixel array sensor (7,216 x 5,412 pixels). Three systems in this medium format colour configuration, with four nadir-viewing camera heads (RGB and Near-lnfrared-NIR), operated for IGN national orthophotography production, during the summer 2009. Thanks to the versatile and modular aspect of the new camera system, the second step of our project was reachable: gathering eight camera heads on the same gyro-stabilised mount in order to achieve 155 megapixels pan-sharpened images with a pan-sharpening ratio of 2 x 2, and a final swath width of about 14,400 pixels. This large format configuration has been designed with two combinations of focal lengths. A 45-90 mm version allows 3D city models acquisition, and a 60-120 mm version for orthophotography acquisition. Good realistic colorimetric quality is obtained with this camera system thanks to specially designed colour filters. This system can be linked to a FMS/INS in order to obtain a direct geo-referencing of images, and the user friendliness for the operators of a state-of-the-art flight management software. [Termes IGN] radar à antenne synthétiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Bistatic inverse synthetic aperture radar (BiISAR) imaging provides complementary information to monostatic ISAR imaging. A suggestion that the conventional bistatic ISAR can be replaced by an equivalent monostatic radar is shown to be inadequate in this paper. We prove that the BiISAR image is a sheared version of the projection of the target on the range-Doppler plane. A bistatic interferometric radar configuration is proposed to correct this distortion and to form 3-D image. Simulation results have validated our analysis and shown the viability of the proposed 3-D imaging algorithm. [Termes IGN] longueur d'ondeRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a new variational gradient-based fusion method for visible and short-wave infrared (swm) imagery. The proposed method enables spatial enhancement and dehazing of visible imagery. Integrating gradients from SWIR imagery into visible imagery produces a single image with true color and sharp gradients. A constraint based on band correlation is included to improve the enhancement and implement dehazing. The band correlation is according to the quantitative relationship between the wavelength and the atmospheric effect caused by Rayleigh scattering. In this study, both clear and hazy Landsat ETM+ images are used in the experiments. By visual assessment, the gradient of the fused image is more salient than that of the original image, and the true color is well preserved. With the inclusion of the band correlation constraint, the proposed fusion method yields almost haze-free results. Quantitatively, the Metric Q of the fused images is significantly higher than that of the original images; the largest increase of the Metric Q in the experimental results is from 0.0114 to 0.0611. Moreover, for the results of the proposed method, the Metric Q increase in the visible bands declines from blue band to red band.
