[Termes IGN] service fondé sur la positionRésumé : (auteur) Our lives are affected by myriads of events happening daily all over the world. For efficient planning and management of complex systems composed of various components, understanding relationships between an event and the reactive behaviour of involved components is vital. Analysing these complex relations demands a spatiotemporal event-based model, in which the event plays a central role. In this article we develop a framework which provides the possibility of mapping and storing event-related information on the OpenStreetMap (OSM) platform by volunteers. The study is divided into two different phases: first, mapping the event elements by adding new attributes adequately designed to encode spatiotemporal and semantic event information; and, second, representing the event-related information on a map by developing a Web application, offering a volunteered location-based service. To facilitate the event-mapping procedure, a Java OpenStreetMap (JOSM) plug-in was developed for volunteers. The plug-in was developed based on the notion of an event to adequately store and manipulate the semantic information of events in the OSM structure. The tool was used by more than 100 volunteers in Munich for the years 2012 to 2014. In addition to manual collection of event-related information by volunteers, a crawling framework was also developed to automatically collect freely available event information from various Web pages on the Internet. The framework extracts the same event elements as the plug-in. But the framework crawls each Web page according to some pre-defined rules and follows a post-processing step, if necessary. The manually collected events along with the crawled event information are visualized in a Web application. The study revealed that adding the possibility of event-oriented mapping to OSM empowers volunteers to collect a higher level of information (event information) for city maps. This information can furthermore be used for strategy development and service planning by decision-makers. [Termes IGN] traitement de semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) In addition to the traditional Geographic Information System (GIS) data such as images and vectors, point cloud data has become more available. It is appreciated for its precision and true three-Dimensional (3D) nature. However, managing the point cloud can be difficult due to scaling problems and specificities of this data type. Several methods exist but are usually fairly specialised and solve only one aspect of the management problem. In this work, we propose a complete and efficient point cloud management system based on a database server that works on groups of points rather than individual points. This system is specifically designed to solve all the needs of point cloud users: fast loading, compressed storage, powerful filtering, easy data access and exporting, and integrated processing. Moreover, the system fully integrates metadata (like sensor position) and can conjointly use point clouds with images, vectors, and other point clouds. The system also offers in-base processing for easy prototyping and parallel processing and can scale well. Lastly, the system is built on open source technologies; therefore it can be easily extended and customised. We test the system will several billion points of point clouds from Lidar (aerial and terrestrial ) and stereo-vision. We demonstrate ~ 400 million pts/h loading speed, user-transparent greater than 2 to 4:1 compression ratio, filtering in the approximately 50 ms range, and output of about a million pts/s, along with classical processing, such as object detection. [Termes IGN] Web Feature ServiceRésumé : (auteur) Schema matching is a critical step in the integration of heterogeneous web service, which contains various types of web services and multi-version services of the same type. Mapping loss or mismatch usually occurs due to schema differences in structure and content and the variety in concept definition and organization. Current instance schema matching methods are not mature enough for heterogeneous web service because they cannot deal with the instance data in web service domain and capture all the semantics, especially metadata semantics. The metadata-based and the instance-based matching methods, in the case of being employed individually, are not efficient to determine the concept relationships, which are crucial for finding high-quality matches between schema attributes. In this paper, we propose an improved schema matching method, based on the combination of instance and metadata (CIM) matcher. The main method of our approach is to utilize schema structure, element labels, and the corresponding instance data information. The matching process is divided into two phases. In the first phase, the metadata-based matchers are used to compute the element label similarity of multi-version open geospatial consortium web service schema, and the generated matching results are raw mappings, which will be reused in the next instance matching phase. In the second phase, the designed instance matching algorithms are employed to the instance data of the raw mappings and fine mappings are generated. Finally, the raw mappings and the fine mappings are combined, and the final mappings are obtained. Our experiments are executed on different versions of web coverage service and web feature service instance data deployed in Geoserver. The results indicate that, the CIM method can obtain more accurate matching results and is flexible enough to handle the web service instance data. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (Auteur) Due to recent technological advances in 3D geographic information system (GIS); These 3D visualization technologies have been widely used in urban planning decisions, including: where to build, how to plan for natural disasters, the use of finite resources, how to incorporate sustainable practices, designing for growing populations and other engineering applications. In this study 3D GIS visualization technology is applied to Karsiyaka (Izmir) settlement area to show its applicability for the land use planning, construction and management. This study is carried out in four different stages: In the first stage; 1:25000 scale topographic maps and 1:1000 scale geological maps are digitised in GIS environment and their attribute tables are stored in the GIS databases. In the second stage; sub-surface of the study area was visualized using 3D technologies. This visualisation process is used to assist decision-making for land use planning. In the third stage; and useful soil class zonation maps are performed to be used in further studies. At last stage; after research at this site, the construction applications of Karsiyaka have been multiplied. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (auteur) The large number of commonly available geographical data sets means that users of this data face a difficult choice in selecting the set that best meets their requirements. In theory, metadata is helpful in this, but many studies suggest that the metadata created by data producers is incomprehensible to average users. The article aims to identify the essential information that users need to acquire the geographical data set that fits their needs. This information is then compared with the information that users can obtain from metadata, product data specifications, and the data itself. As a result of a survey the most important data quality elements were identified, as well as some information pertinent to users that is missing in metadata. The users stressed that a lack of value for optional attributes considerably decreases the informative value and fitness for use of existing data sets. This was also observed while analyzing the building thematic data layer, which is a part of The Polish National Topographic Database. The research shows that data quality is diversified within a database, and it may happen that for some subsets of data, quality criteria are not met. Finally, two data quality subelements – optional attribute and void value - were proposed, which will overcome some difficulties in assessing the fitness for use of data.
