[Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (auteur) Spatial anomalies may be single points or small regions whose non-spatial attribute values are significantly inconsistent with those of their spatial neighborhoods. In this article, a Spatial Anomaly Points and Regions Detection method using multi-constrained graphs and local density (SAPRD for short) is proposed. The SAPRD algorithm first models spatial proximity relationships between spatial entities by constructing a Delaunay triangulation, the edges of which provide certain statistical characteristics. By considering the difference in non-spatial attributes of adjacent spatial entities, two levels of non-spatial attribute distance constraints are imposed to improve the proximity graph. This produces a series of sub-graphs, and those with very few entities are identified as candidate spatial anomalies. Moreover, the spatial anomaly degree of each entity is calculated based on the local density. A spatial interpolation surface of the spatial anomaly degree is generated using the inverse distance weight, and this is utilized to reveal potential spatial anomalies and reflect their whole areal distribution. Experiments on both simulated and real-life spatial databases demonstrate the effectiveness and practicability of the SAPRD algorithm. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (Auteur) Whether it is sunrise, the weekend, or Christmas, some form of temporal structure or periodic pattern governs our daily activities. Understanding them is essential to making sense of human activity, because they frame normality and allow us to identify abnormalities. However, cultural heterogeneity and scale greatly complicate our ability to uncover and understand human activity at a given time within a region. Current research in the field of visual analytics and geography provide methods of addressing spatiotemporal periodicity, but they fall short in providing access to multiple spatial and temporal scales via a relevant calendar. In response to these shortcomings, we developed PerSE (periodicity in spatiotemporal events), a coordinated-view Web application designed to aid users in the detection and analysis of calendar-related periodicity in spatiotemporal event data sets. Given the complexity of such a visualization tool, this paper focuses on the usability and learnability of PerSE. We evaluated the tool through a 20-participant study that consisted of training, a multiple-choice test, and the System Usability Scale. Our analysis of the results shows that the complex combination of visual tools and multi-scale, multi-calendar capability used within PerSE is effective, but still in need of usability improvements. [Termes IGN] service webRésumé : (Auteur) The spatial analysis functionalities of geographic information systems (GIS) are increasingly used across the web. Interface specifications of geoprocessing web services define the syntactic properties of the services (number and type of parameters) and provide textual descriptions of the operations. The discovery and reuse of web services based on these syntactic properties is restricted and has led to the quest for extended operation descriptions. A number of extended operation descriptions have been proposed and are reviewed in this article. The reviewed descriptions focus on particular steps of the workflow development process. In this article we analyse all phases of the development process of a spatial analysis workflow regarding the requirements of operation descriptions. These requirements are translated into a knowledge base that contains information about spatial analysis operations for the operations’ discovery, selection and composition. The knowledge base also foresees the automated discovery of operations in well-defined application contexts such as the transformation of data types or coordinate reference systems. The knowledge base combines the geooperator approach with elements of ontology-based approaches. The geooperator browser is the implementation of the discovery and selection of geoprocessing operations based on the knowledge base. A draft formalization of the knowledge base demonstrates its use and the support it provides during the composition of operations. Note de contenu : INTRODUCTION
