[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Lyonnnaise des Eaux Dumez has had since 1988 an established policy of introducting Geographic Information Systems to its utilities companies. About 10 operational sites throughout the world are today equipped with GIS or one in a stage of implementation. These few years of experience allow us to derive the main factors which determine the successful implementation of a GIS. Among them, changes in job procedures in organizations are the most crucial. This paper intends to describe what are these evolutions in the water and wasterwater industry.
