[Termes IGN] système à base de connaissancesRésumé : (Résumé) The academic interest in social concepts in city contexts, such as sense of place and social capital, has been growing in the last decades. We present a systematic literature review that confirms the strong relationship between sense of place and social capital, from a social sciences point-of-view. It also reveal that little attention has been paid to their spatial dimensions at the urban level, thereby missing the chance to exploit socio-spatial knowledge to improve the day-to-day life in and functioning of the city (e.g. in planning processes, citizen participation, civic engagement). We therefore examine sense of place and social capital from a Geographic Information Science (GISc) viewpoint, and present a formal conceptualization and initial theoretical framework which explicitly describes both concepts, and the relation between them, within the context of a city and from a spatial point of view. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) Variable-scale maps have been advocated by several authors in the context of mobile cartography. In the literature on real-time map generalisation, however, corresponding methods that resolve cartographic conflicts by deformation of the underlying map space together with the map foreground, are underrepresented. This paper demonstrates how the concept of a malleable space can be applied as a part of the generalisation process and incorporated into the overall methodology of point generalisation. Two different algorithms are used, a density-equalising cartogram algorithm and Laplacian smoothing. Both methods work in real-time and are datadriven. In addition, they allow for a parameterisation in combi-nation with a quadtree data structure, as well as a combination with 'classic' generalisation operators (e.g. selection, aggregation, displacement) based on the quadtree. The quadtree serves both as a spatial index for fast retrieval and search of points, and as a density estimator to inform generalisation operators. The use of the quadtree as a common spatial index provides a tool to combine variable-scale maps with classic generalisation. A combination of the two allows, at small map scales, the maintenance of detail in dense areas and data reduction in sparse areas. Additionally, it facilitates building a modular workflow for real-time map generalisation. [Termes IGN] réseau neuronal convolutifRésumé : (auteur) Semantic classification is a core remote sensing task as it provides the fundamental input for land-cover map generation. The very recent literature has shown the superior performance of deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) for many classification tasks including the automatic analysis of Very High Spatial Resolution (VHR) geospatial images. Most of the recent initiatives have focused on very high discrimination capacity combined with accurate object boundary retrieval. Therefore, current architectures are perfectly tailored for urban areas over restricted areas but not designed for large-scale purposes. This paper presents an end-to-end automatic processing chain, based on DCNNs, that aims at performing large-scale classification of VHR satellite images (here SPOT 6/7). Since this work assesses, through various experiments, the potential of DCNNs for country-scale VHR land-cover map generation, a simple yet effective architecture is proposed, efficiently discriminating the main classes of interest (namely buildings, roads, water, crops, vegetated areas) by exploiting existing VHR land-cover maps for training. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (auteur) This research presents an intelligent planning support system based on multi-agent systems for spatial urban land use planning. The proposed system consists of two main phases: a pre-negotiation phase and an automated negotiation phase. The pre-negotiation phase involves interaction between human actors and intelligent software agents in order to elicit the actors’ social preferences. The agents employ social value orientation theory, which is rooted in social psychology, in order to model actors’ social preferences. The automated negotiation phase involves negotiation among autonomous software agents, the aim being to achieve consensus about the spatial problem on behalf of the relevant actors and using the information obtained.
This study employs a computationally effective Bayesian learning technique, along with social value orientation theory, to design socially rational intelligent agents who work on behalf of real actors. The proposed system is applied to a real world urban land use planning case study. Human actors participate in a pre-negotiation phase, and their social preferences are elicited by intelligent software agents through a number of interactions. Then, software agents come together to engage in an automated negotiation phase and eventually reach an agreement on the spatial configuration of urban land uses on behalf of the actors. The results of the study show that the proposed system is effective at performing an automated negotiation, plus that the final plan – which is the output of the automated negotiation – produces higher social utility and better spatial land use configurations for the agents.Numéro de notice : A2017-240 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE/URBANISME Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1080/13658816.2016.1263306 En ligne : http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/13658816.2016.1263306 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=85175
