[Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (auteur) As Floating Car Data are becoming increasingly available, in recent years many research works focused on leveraging them to infer road map geometry, topology and attributes. In this paper, we present an algorithm, relying on supervised learning to detect and localize traffic signals based on the spatial distribution of vehicle stop points. Our main contribution is to provide a single framework to address both problems. The proposed method has been experimented with a one-month dataset of real-world GPS traces, collected on the road network of Mitaka (Japan). The results show that this method provides accurate results in terms of localization and performs advantageously compared to the OpenStreetMap database in exhaustivity. Among many potential applications, the output predictions may be used as a prior map and/or combined with other sources of data to guide autonomous vehicles. [Termes IGN] système d'information urbainIndex. décimale : PROJET Mémoires : Rapports de projet - stage des ingénieurs de 2e année Résumé : (auteur) In the cities, the underground networks system become more and more dense because of the
occupation of many infrastructures for water, storm-water, sewer, electricity, gas, etc. Urban and ecological problems can be faced thanks to them. However, they are difficult to manage because of the impossibility of seeing them. The location of existing infrastructures is a necessity for controlling their development. Converting from CAD to GIS may improve the CAD drawings with spatial information and attributes and allows a better accessibility, accuracy and performance [Warner, 2013]. The Geographic Information System (GIS) implementation process for municipalities can be very complex, expensive, and time consuming, depending on the knowledge of municipalities. Maps of underground infrastructure systems are mainly stored in paper or CAD format and many cities and organizations around the world are putting significant efforts into converting those maps into GIS format. However, most of these efforts are uncoordinated and a formal protocol is missing to deal with GIS map update and version control. During this internship, it was asked to survey current practices in the world and develop a formal protocol to convert and manage GIS maps of underground infrastructure systems. The project required a technical expertise (to account for the potentials and limits of GIS) and specific knowledge about underground infrastructure systems. I had to survey current efforts in the world to convert and manage underground maps mainly thanks to a survey of municipalities and through online searches. Then developed a formal protocol illustrated by a general flowchart that should offer a streamlined strategy to ensure effective conversion from CAD to GIS and allows a better data management. The project resulted in a scientific publication. These works allowed me to develop GIS, Python, communication and writing skills in English.Note de contenu : Introduction

[Termes IGN] réseau neuronal convolutifRésumé : (auteur) Semantic segmentation of remote sensing images enables in particular land-cover map generation for a given set of classes. Very recent literature has shown the superior performance of deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) for many tasks, from object recognition to semantic labelling, including the classification of Very High Resolution (VHR) satellite images. However, while plethora of works aim at improving object delineation on geographically restricted areas, few tend to solve this classification task at very large scales. New issues occur such as intra-class class variability, diachrony between surveys, and the appearance of new classes in a specific area, that do not exist in the predefined set of labels. Therefore, this work intends to (i) perform large scale classification and to (ii) expand a set of land-cover classes, using the off-the-shelf model learnt in a specific area of interest and adapting it to unseen areas. [Termes IGN] web des donnéesRésumé : (éditeur) Over the past decades, rapid developments in digital and sensing technologies, such as the Cloud, Web and Internet of Things, have dramatically changed the way we live and work. The digital transformation is revolutionizing our ability to monitor our planet and transforming the way we access, process and exploit Earth Observation data from satellites. This book reviews these megatrends and their implications for the Earth Observation community as well as the wider data economy. It provides insight into new paradigms of Open Science and Innovation applied to space data, which are characterized by openness, access to large volume of complex data, wide availability of new community tools, new techniques for big data analytics such as Artificial Intelligence, unprecedented level of computing power, and new types of collaboration among researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and citizen scientists. In addition, this book aims to provide readers with some reflections on the future of Earth Observation, highlighting through a series of use cases not just the new opportunities created by the New Space revolution, but also the new challenges that must be addressed in order to make the most of the large volume of complex and diverse data delivered by the new generation of satellites.
