[Termes IGN] Valence (Espagne)Résumé : (auteur) Triangulation is a surveying method on which earlier maps made were based. Although the origins of the method can be traced back to the 16th century, it is still used today, with minor changes, to adjust networks observed with modern geodetic techniques. In this paper we present the geodetic survey work that was carried out for the primary triangulation network of the first 1:500 urban map of the city of València (Spain). It spanned from 1929 to 1944 and resulted in 421 maps covering about 174 square kilometres. We focus on four key elements to define the geometric framework of a map: (1) the geodetic network, (2) the cartographic projection, (3) the baseline measurements, and (4) the primary triangulation. The paper is based on the interpretation of original documents and field books recovered from the archives of the València City Council. In order to check the accuracy and consistency of the survey work, we recomputed all calculations directly from the field data, following the mathematical procedures of the time. We obtained a set of transformation parameters to convert the coordinates of 1929 to current coordinates based on the European Terrestrial Reference System of 1989 (ETRS89). Results showed that the 1929 primary triangulation angles and coordinates are accurate to 8 s of arc and 35 cm respectively, and that the coordinates transform well into the current reference system with average residuals of 26 cm across nine control points, demonstrating the high quality of the 1929 work. In the present study, we use Airborne Visible InfraRed Imaging Spectrometer-Next Generation (AVIRIS-NG) datasets acquired over Rishabdev ultramafic suite to derive surficial mineral map using least square based spectral shape matching in wavelength range of diagnostic absorption features of minerals. Resulting mineral map revealed presence of hydrothermally altered serpentine group of minerals and associated alteration products (talc and dolomite) along with clays and phyllosilicates. Mineral maps are validated using field spectral measurements and published geological map. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) Cartographic generalization research has focused almost exclusively in recent years on topographic mapping, and has thereby gained an incorrect reputation for having to do only with reference or positional data. The generalization research community needs to broaden its scope to include thematic cartography and geovisualization. Generalization is not new to these areas of cartography, and has in fact always been involved in thematic geographic visualization, despite rarely being acknowledged. We illustrate this involvement with several examples of famous, public-audience thematic maps, noting the generalization procedures involved in drawing each, both across their basemap and thematic layers. We also consider, for each map example we note, which generalization operators were crucial to the formation of the map’s thematic message. The many incremental gains made by the cartographic generalization research community while treating reference data can be brought to bear on thematic cartography in the same way they were used implicitly on the well-known thematic maps we highlight here as examples. [Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) In the present study, data-driven evidential belief function model (belief function) was employed to generate landslides susceptibility index map of Darjeeling Himalaya considering 15 landslide causative factors, which grouped into six categories, i.e. geomorphological factors (elevation, aspect, slope, curvature), lithological factors (geology, soil, lineament density, distance to lineament), hydrologic factors (drainage density, distance to drainage, stream power index, topographic wetted index), triggering factor (rainfall), protective factor (normalized differential vegetation index) and anthropogenic factor (land use and land cover). Total 2079 landslide locations were mapped and randomly divided it into training datasets (70% landslide locations) and validation datasets (30% landslide locations). The resultant susceptibility map was divided into five different susceptibility zones i.e. very low, low, moderate, high and very high which covered 5.60%, 25.65%, 34.47%, 24.67% and 9.61% area respectively of the Darjeeling Himalaya. Receiver operating characteristics curve suggested that 80.20% prediction accuracy of the prepared map whereas frequency ratio plot indicated towards the ideal landslides susceptibility index map. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Gridded population results at a fine resolution are important for optimizing the allocation of resources and researching population migration. For example, the data are crucial for epidemic control and natural disaster relief. In this study, the random forest model was applied to multisource data to estimate the population distribution in impervious areas at a 30 m spatial resolution in Chongqing, Southwest China. The community population data from the Chinese government were used to validate the estimation accuracy. Compared with the other regression techniques, the random forest regression method produced more accurate results (R2 = 0.7469, RMSE = 2785.04 and p Numéro de notice : A2020-308 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.3390/ijgi9060369 Date de publication en ligne : 03/06/2020 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/ijgi9060369 Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=95155
