[Termes IGN] téléphonie mobileRésumé : (Auteur) Novel digital data sources allow us to attain enhanced knowledge about locations and mobilities of people in space and time. Already a fast-growing body of literature demonstrates the applicability and feasibility of mobile phone-based data in social sciences for considering mobile devices as proxies for people. However, the implementation of such data imposes many theoretical and methodological challenges. One major issue is the uneven spatial resolution of mobile phone data due to the spatial configuration of mobile network base stations and its spatial interpolation. To date, different interpolation techniques are applied to transform mobile phone data into other spatial divisions. However, these do not consider the temporality and societal context that shapes the human presence and mobility in space and time. The paper aims, first, to contribute to mobile phone-based research by addressing the need to give more attention to the spatial interpolation of given data, and further by proposing a dasymetric interpolation approach to enhance the spatial accuracy of mobile phone data. Second, it contributes to population modelling research by combining spatial, temporal and volumetric dasymetric mapping and integrating it with mobile phone data. In doing so, the paper presents a generic conceptual framework of a multi-temporal function-based dasymetric (MFD) interpolation method for mobile phone data. Empirical results demonstrate how the proposed interpolation method can improve the spatial accuracy of both night-time and daytime population distributions derived from different mobile phone data sets by taking advantage of ancillary data sources. The proposed interpolation method can be applied for both location- and person-based research, and is a fruitful starting point for improving the spatial interpolation methods for mobile phone data. [Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (Auteur) This paper addresses a popularity-aware collective keyword (PAC-K) query in road networks. Given a road network with POIs (Points of Interest), which is modeled as a road network graph, where each node locating in a two-dimensional space represents a road intersection or a POI, and each edge with weight represents a road segment, the PACK query aims to find a group of popular POIs (i.e., a popular region) that cover the query’s keywords and satisfy the distance requirements from each node to the query node and between each pair of nodes, such that the sum of rating scores over these nodes for the query keywords is maximized. We show the problem of answering the PACK query is NP-Hard. To solve this problem, we present exact and heuristic solutions on small and large road networks, respectively. In particular, to improve query performance, we propose a rating score scaling technique to reduce the search space and a redundant computation reducing technique to reduce the excessive redundant computations in query processing. Extensive performance studies using two real datasets confirm the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the proposed solutions. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) With the growing popularization of small crafts, the accidents that happen among such crafts are also drawing increasing attention, according to the marine accident data released by the Japan Coast Guard. In order to prevent possible navigation accidents, the authors considered that besides sharing information from land by the coast office broadly, managers on land can also watch out and give appropriate advice for operators in crafts one-to-one. This paper discusses the technical issues of developing virtual globe-based (Google Maps/Earth geographic information system (GIS)) 3D visualization stand-alone software for small craft navigation assistance in the aim to facilitate the safety and sufficiency of small crafts in the near sea. The system was developed using web services and object-oriented programming disciplines to support the integration of a virtual global framework, GPS, and real-time imaging data. The authors have also developed data processing programs that are glued together with C# language, JavaScript language, National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) instance data, and keyhole markup language (KML) data. Experiments for evaluating the framework have been made around the near coastal area. The performances and deficiencies are discussed in this paper. In order to evaluate the validity of the performance and the functionality of the system, authors conducted a questionnaire survey among third year students of the Voyage Course at Kobe University. The evaluation of the system suggests valuable potential for the small craft navigation assistance system.
