[Termes IGN] OCLRésumé : (Auteur) Integrity constraints can control topological relations of objects in spatial databases. These constraints can be modelled using formal languages such as the spatial extension of the Object Constraint Language (Spatial OCL). This language allows the expression of topological integrity constraints involving crisp spatial objects but it does not support constraints involving spatial objects with vague shapes (e.g. forest stand, pollution zone, valley or lake). In this paper, we propose an extension of Spatial OCL based on (1) a geometric model for objects with vague shapes, and (2) an adverbial approach for modelling topological constraints involving regions with broad boundaries. This new language provides an easiness in the formal modelling of these complex constraints. Our approach has been implemented in a code generator. A case study is also presented in the paper in the field of agriculture spreading activities. AOCL OVS takes account of the shape vagueness of spread parcel and improve spatial reasoning about them. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) Changes in object geometry-type such as area to line are necessary in terms of the requirements of cartographic generalisation, and also for the creation of the network topology in geographical information systems. Geometry-type changes that reduce dimension include area-line, area-point and line-point changes. This study focuses on area-line changes. Since the area objects have different shapes, there is no unique solution that works in all possible situations. Well-known methods for area-line changes include triangulation, water lining, straight skeletons, etc. In this paper, an approach based on triangulation is introduced for creating road centerlines from blocks of parcels. Spaghetti large-scale map data are taken into consideration in this approach in which blocks of parcels are captured as polygons and roads are represented by the space between them. In order to implement this approach, a subprogram (script) is developed under the NETCAD software package - a Turkish CAD-GIS software package - with the Visual Basic scripting language. This subprogram also includes post-processing routines for the relevant node creation at road crossings, and delivers acceptable results for the centerlines; however, the post-processing needs to be improved. [Termes IGN] web sémantiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Interpretation of spatial features often requires combined reasoning over geometry and semantics. We introduce the Space package, an open source SWI-Prolog extension that provides spatial indexing capabilities. Together with the existing semantic web reasoning capabilities of SWI-Prolog, this allows efficient integration of spatial and semantic queries and provides an infrastructure for declarative programming with space and semantics. There are few systems that provide indexing and reasoning facilities for both spatial and semantic data. A common solution is to combine separate semantic reasoning and geospatial services. Such loose coupling has the disadvantage that each service cannot make use of the statistics of the other. This makes optimization of such a service-oriented architecture hard. The SWI-Prolog Space and Semantic web packages provide a native Prolog interface to both spatial and semantic indexing and reasoning, which makes it easy to write combined query optimizers. Another advantage of the Space package is that it allows declarative logic programming, which means in practice that you say what you want to compute instead of how to compute it. The actual indexing machinery is encapsulated inside Prolog predicates. In this article we describe the interface of the Space package, compare its functionality to alternative software libraries, and show how to work with it using three example applications. These example illustrations include reasoning over movement patterns, dynamically loading geospatial linked data off the semantic web, and setting up a simple KML server.
