[Termes IGN] teneur en eau de la végétationRésumé : (Auteur) The estimation of live fuel moisture content (LFMC) is necessary for fire danger assessment. Several studies have successfully used satellite imagery to estimate LFMC, both using empirical and simulation approaches (Yebra et al., 2013). The latter are based on Radiative Transfer Models (BTM). They are generally more robust and easier to generalize, but they rely heavily on the proper parameterization. Since some of the input parameters are associated with different physiological processes, a better understanding of how those parameters co-vary is necessary for constraining the simulation scenarios, thus avoiding combinations of parameters that are unlikely to occur (for instance, in temperate ecosystems, it is unlikely to find simultaneously high values of leaf chlorophyll and low values of leaf moisture). To improve parameterization of RTM models for LFMC estimation, we conducted a laboratory experiment to measure trends in leaf and canopy variables of two tree species broadly distributed in Eurosiberian climates: Beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) and pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur L.). Measurements of LFMC, equivalent water thickness (EWT), dry matter content (DMC), chlorophyll (ClHh), leaf area index (LAl), leaf angle distribution (LIDF), crown height to width ratio (CHW) and plant reflectance were performed. Significant positive correlations were found between LFMC and EWT (Rs >0.5), and negative ones were found between both parameters and CMb (Rs Numéro de notice : A2014-242 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : FORET/IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.14358/PERS.80.5.451 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.14358/PERS.80.5.451 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=33145

[Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (Auteur) Given a set S of sites and a set O of weighted objects, an optimal location query finds the location(s) where introducing a new site maximizes the total weight of the objects that are closer to the new site than to any other site. With such a query, for instance, a franchise corporation (e.g., McDonald’s) can find a location to open a new store such that the number of potential store customers (i.e., people living close to the store) is maximized. Optimal location queries are computationally complex to compute and require efficient solutions that scale with large datasets. Previously, two specific approaches have been proposed for efficient computation of optimal location queries. However, they both assume p-norm distance (namely, L1 and L2/Euclidean); hence, they are not applicable where sites and objects are located on spatial networks. In this article, we focus on optimal network location (ONL) queries, i.e., optimal location queries in which objects and sites reside on a spatial network. We introduce two complementary approaches, namely EONL (short for Expansion-based ONL) and BONL (short for Bound-based ONL), which enable efficient computation of ONL queries with datasets of uniform and skewed distributions, respectively. Moreover, with an extensive experimental study, we verify and compare the efficiency of our proposed approaches with real world datasets, and we demonstrate the importance of considering network distance (rather than p-norm distance) with ONL queries. [Termes IGN] veille économiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Business professionals are increasingly mobile and should be supported by suitable mobile Decision Support Systems (DSS). In our previous work, we have established that such suitable mobile DSS should be (i) GeoBI(Geospatial Business Intelligence)-enabled and (ii) context-based, and have addressed issues regarding context characterization and context modeling. The present paper deals with mobile GeoBI context-based reasoning. Through realistic scenarios, it highlights (i) the requirement for context-based reasoning to enhance mobile GeoBI experience, (ii) the need for contextual metrics/statistics to help mobile business professionals discover their local context, (iii) the need for crossing business performance metrics with contextual metrics to help mobile business professionals in discovering the context hidden behind business performance figures, and proposes convenient solutions to tackle these needs.
