[Termes IGN] photogrammétrie métrologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) A novel, low cost, non-contact, six degrees of freedom (DOF) measurement technique is proposed that enables real-time measurement of a small lightweight module's location. Straight forward applications of the proposed technique include robot calibration by installing the module to the end effector of a robot arm, and head-tracking in a typical virtual reality environment by attaching the module to a human head. The technique is based on a combination of photogrammetry and optical pattern projection. The module generates an optical pattern that is observable on the surrounding walls, and photogrammetry is used to measure the absolute coordinates of features in the projected optical pattern with respect to a defined global coordinate system. By combining these absolute coordinates with the known angular information of the optical projection beams, a minimization algorithm can be used to extract the absolute coordinates and angular orientation of the module itself. Experimental agreement of 1 to 5 parts in 103 was obtained by translating the module over 0.9 m and by rotating it through 60°. Numerical simulations were conducted to demonstrate that optimum design of the projected pattern gives a lower associated measurement uncertainty than is possible by direct photogrammetric measurement with traditional tie points. This paper documents the proof of principle and describes how the measurement can be further improved. [Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) In modern remote sensing applications the use of automatic image processing codes is becoming increasingly common. When dealing with satellite time series or multi-source data, image co-registration is a time-consuming, but necessary, pre-processing step. This study shows how a medium resolution satellite multitemporal dataset can be effectively processed using automatic data processing. Results on real and transformed ASTER data showed that, without human interaction, the automatic ground control points extraction (AGE) technique, developed at Politecnico di Milano, is able to obtain accuracies generally sufficient for practical applications and similar to those reported in other studies. [Termes IGN] photogrammétrie terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) Close range photogrammetry has proved effective as a cost-effective and easy-to-use method for cultural heritage recording. Off-the-shelf digital cameras can be used to rapidly acquire data at low cost, allowing non-experts to become more involved in their local heritage, an important aspiration identified in this collaboration between English Heritage and Loughborough University. To achieve this while also allowing for measurements in a 3D national reference system, a recording system has been developed that is capable of deriving the exterior orientation during exposure directly and cheaply. The system comprises a digital camera, a small 3D orientation sensor and a GNSS antenna, assembled in a frame that allows calibration of the offsets between the components. Test field data was used to investigate calibration precision and stability as well as achievable absolute and relative accuracy. The results of data analysis indicate that the system can meet the accuracy requirements for medium accuracy heritage recording, even with slightly unstable offset calibration values. [Termes IGN] stationRésumé : (Auteur) This paper describes the methodology used to calibrate a set of six total stations over a typical NGS Calibrated Baseline (CBL), together with the results obtained. The methodology was extended to allow for the correction of some additional systematic errors in the EDM. It is presented to allow others to examine the processes used, and possibly adopt them for their own use when calibrating EDM over an NGS CBL. The measurements indicated that the 0 m point on the CBL had moved from its calibrated location by approximately 0.007 m (7 mm). Examination of the ground mark indicated a significant gouge on the brass plaque, consistent with an impact from a snow-clearing blade. This suggests that while the concrete remained intact, the brass plaque was deformed by the impact, and the zero point moved 0.007 m, lengthening lines connecting to the 0 m mark.
