[Termes IGN] précision géométrique (imagerie)Résumé : (auteur) This article deals with the use of unmanned platforms of less than 2 kg in weight for the aerial image acquisition, its subsequent processing and the study of the precision reached in aerotrian-gulation, a step prior to obtaining the final products. This is done using a flight made on the ruins of the monastery of Toni Roden in Hoxter, Germany. The aerotriangulation of the fli-ght with photogrammetric software is carried out in ten different assumptions in order to verify the aerotriangulation quality of blocks of images captured with RPAS photogrammetric systems with standard no nmetric cameras, the accuracy of ae roclria n-g ul etion processing without points of control in the field, it is studied if the use of non-metric cameras affects the accuracy of the products, the quality of the digital surface models generated from the dense cloud of points is checked and the scopes of use of the photogrammetric RPAS systems (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System). As main conclusions can be highlighted that, with the software used, better results are obtained in the aerotriangula-tion and in the final products increasing the overlap to 80% and that the use of non-metric cameras does not affect the accuracy. [Termes IGN] reliefRésumé : (Auteur) Classification of land surface to landforms is fundamental to interpretation of various environmental processes. The heterogeneous landform descriptions and classification approaches, in combination with the scale dependence of digital elevation models (DEMs) and their products, defy the development of an interoperable and transferable automated landform classification approach. A theoretical framework has proposed that land surface should be regionalised to morphologic meaningful objects, delimited by discontinuities (i.e. slope breaks and inflections) and subsequently classified with morphometric and contextual criteria. However, an automated methodology meeting these conditions is still lacking. This study is an attempt to automate this framework through the investigation of a modified version of a spatially adaptive pattern-based approach and its potential to produce morphologic meaningful objects of various shapes and sizes, present at the given DEM resolution. These objects were classified to 15 landform element classes based on semantic descriptions, including criteria of morphometry, relative topographic position and topological relations. Results were visually analysed by draping them over DEMs and contours and quantitatively assessed with fuzzy classification tools. The modified pattern-based approach was proven to be efficient for delineation of morphologic meaningful objects in DEMs. The classification approach was transferable to various landscapes and DEM resolutions, given that it uses spatially flexible fuzzy criteria. If this is not given, a parameter estimation leads to insufficient results. Simulating a laser scanning scene provides the knowledge of the exact functional model of the surface. Thus, it is possible to investigate the impact of neglecting spatial correlations in the stochastic model. Here, this impact is quantified through statistical analysis.
The correlation function, the number of scanning points and the ratio of colored noise in the measurements determine the covariances in the simulated observations. It is shown that even for short correlation lengths of less than 10 cm and a low ratio of colored noise the global test as well as the parameter test are rejected. This indicates a bias and inconsistency in the parameter estimation. [Termes IGN] photogrammétrie métrologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The combination of digital close-range photogrammetric systems and image processing techniques has been employed in structural health monitoring applications for more than 10 years. The use of off-the-shelf entry level digital single-lens reflex cameras has lately become a suitable choice even for applications requiring sub-millimetre- level precision especially when the involved devices need to be inexpensive. The drawback of such low-cost cameras is in the trade-off between spatial resolution, frame rate, and burst rate—at the highest available spatial resolution, a high frame rate is either not possible or it has a low burst rate. This may be problematic when monitoring a structural component during a dynamic/fatigue test. In order to estimate specimen motion in such a situation, this paper proposes an innovative sinusoidal fitting based on a least squares adjustment. This method simultaneously processes multiple bursts of data in order to synthetically increase the sampling frequency of the system. The input data for the adjustment comes from a full surface modelling procedure based on a newly proposed generalized 3D polynomial. The experimental results include a beam deformation test performed in a structures laboratory. The new sinusoidal fitting method effectively increased the system temporal resolution three-fold, which improved the precision of the derived parameters with up to two orders of magnitude. The root mean square error of the residuals were as good as 26 μm, and the one of the estimated amplitudes from the photogrammetric system versus a set of laser transducers used as control was as small as 43 μm.
