[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) As the market penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) increases, the surge of charging demand could potentially overload the power grid and disrupt infrastructure planning. Hence, an efficient deployment strategy of electrical vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) is much needed. This study attempts to address the EVSE problem from a microscopic perspective by formulating the problem in two steps: public charging demand simulation and charging station location optimization. Specifically, we apply agent-based modeling approach to produce high-resolution daily driving profiles within an urban-scale context using MATSim. Subsequently, we perform EV assignment based on socioeconomic attributes to determine EV adopters. Energy consumption model and public charging rule are specified for generating synthetic public charging demand and such demand is validated against real-world public charging records to guarantee the robustness of simulation results. In the second step, we apply a location approach – capacitated maximal coverage location problem (CMCLP) model – to reallocate existing charging stations with the objective of maximizing the coverage of total charging demands generated from the previous step under the budget and load capacity constraints. The entire framework is capable of modeling the spatiotemporal distribution of public charging demand in a bottom-up fashion, and provide practical support for future public EVSE installation. [Termes IGN] transformation en ondelettesRésumé : (auteur) The accurate identification of urban agglomeration spatial area is helpful in understanding the internal spatial relationship under urban expansion and in evaluating the development level of urban agglomeration. Previous studies on the identification of spatial areas often ignore the functional distribution and development of urban agglomerations by only using nighttime light data (NTL). In this study, a new method is firstly proposed to identify the accurate spatial area of urban agglomerations by fusing night light data (NTL) and point of interest data (POI); then an object-oriented method is used by this study to identify the spatial area, finally the identification results obtained by different data are verified. The results show that the accuracy identified by NTL data is 82.90% with the Kappa coefficient of 0.6563, the accuracy identified by POI data is 81.90% with the Kappa coefficient of 0.6441, and the accuracy after data fusion is 90.70%, with the Kappa coefficient of 0.8123. The fusion of these two kinds of data has higher accuracy in identifying the spatial area of urban agglomeration, which can play a more important role in evaluating the development level of urban agglomeration; this study proposes a feasible method and path for urban agglomeration spatial area identification, which is not only helpful to optimize the spatial structure of urban agglomeration, but also to formulate the spatial development policy of urban agglomeration. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (auteur) Two months after the hurricanes Irma and Maria hit Barbuda, the construction of a new international airport led to accusations of degrading the Codrington Lagoon National Park and contravening the conventions of the Ramsar Program. Scientists have analyzed the aftermath with respect to historical legacies, disaster capitalism, manifestation of climate injustices and green gentrification. The main objective of this study was to quantify and allocate land use and land cover change (LULCC) in Barbuda before and after the 2017 Hurricane disasters. Remote sensing data and volunteered geographic information were analyzed to detect the potential changes in natural LULC so that human activities and the emergence of artificial surfaces could be detected. Human-induced LULCC occurred at different sites on the island, with decreased activities in Codrington, but increased and continued activities at Coco and Palmetto Points. With an accuracy of 97.1 %, we estimated a total increase of vegetated areas by 6.56 km2, and a simultaneous slight increase in roads and buildings with a total length of 249.67 km and a total area of 1.43 km2. The vegetation condition itself depict a steady decrease since 2017. New hotspots of human activity emerged on the island in the Codrington Lagoon National Park. [Termes IGN] urbanisationRésumé : (auteur) This article proposes an estimation method for assessing urban sprawl using multispectral remote sensing data: SNPP-VIIRS, DMSP/OLS, Landsat 5-TM, and Landsat 8-OLI. This study focuses on the impacts of human activities, in terms of increased electrical-power consumption (EPC) due to urbanization. For this purpose, night-time light data are used to measure the EPC growth from 2000 to 2020. We also perform a suitability analysis using geographic information-systems techniques to propose a new urban town in Lahore to mitigate urbanization and EPC increase. We found an overall increase of 33% in urban area and an EPC increase of 21.6% in the last two decades. We also find that the best proposed site for the new urban town is in the northwest of Lahore. [Termes IGN] secours d'urgenceRésumé : (auteur) Increased occurrence of road traffic crashes in Kano metropolis has resulted in a steady loss of lives, injuries, and increased people's risk exposure. This study looked into the emergency response to road traffic crashes in Kano, with a view to improving efficiency by developing linkages and synergy between Emergency Healthcare Facilities (EHCF), ambulances, and crash hotspots. The geographical location and attributes of the major EHCF, crash hotspots along highway intersections, and the two existent ambulances at the Kano State Fire Service (KSFS) and Federal Road Safety Corp head offices (FRSC) were obtained using GPS surveying. Road traffic network data (vector format) was digitized from satellite image, from which two major road classes (highways and minor roads) were identified, as well as their respective speed limits. The length and speed constraints were used to calculate time distances. Nearest Neighbor and Network (closest facility, shortest route, and location-allocation) analyses were carried out. Location-allocation analysis was to determine based on defined criteria the best locations to allocate EHCF or ambulance for optimum coverage. The results demonstrated that EHCF, ambulances, and crash places have different distribution patterns with almost no linkages. Closest ambulance facility analysis revealed the FRSC ambulance takes 9.41 minutes to arrive to crash spot 18 (Maiduguri Road, following NNPC) and 7.52 minutes to arrive at AKTH, the nearest EHCF. Comparatively, getting to Court road incident scene (spot 16) and IRPH as the closest EHCF takes about 3 times the time it takes to get to spot 18 and 4 times the time it takes to get to AKTH. This means that practically almost all victims in the city suffocate before reaching to the hospital. This signifies that, in cases of demand for CPR at the incident scene, there are higher likelihood of dying as it is expected to be provided within the first four minutes after the crash. Based on a maximum of 4 minutes impedance cutoff from all directions towards the occurrences areas, location-allocation analysis found eight new locations to maximize coverage and improve efficiency. It is concluded that current road traffic crash emergency response system has been determined to be ineffective. As a result, more ambulances should be strategically placed to improve emergency response times.
