[Termes IGN] turbidité océaniqueRésumé : (Auteur) This study presents a comprehensive assessment of the performance of the commonly used atmospheric correction models (NIR, SWIR, NIR-SWIR and FM) and ocean color products (OC3 and OC2) derived from MODIS images over the Arabian Gulf, Sea of Oman, and Arabian Sea. The considered atmospheric correction models have been used to derive MODIS normalized water-leaving radiances (nLw), which are compared to in situ water nLw(λ) data collected at different locations by Masdar Institute, United Arab of Emirates, and from AERONET-OC (the ocean color component of the Aerosol Robotic Network) database. From this comparison, the NIR model has been found to be the best performing model among the considered atmospheric correction models, which in turn shows disparity, especially at short wavelengths (400–500 nm) under high aerosol optical depth conditions (AOT (869) > 0.3) and over turbid waters. To reduce the error induced by these factors, a modified model taking into consideration the atmospheric and water turbidity conditions has been proposed. A turbidity index was used to identify the turbid water and a threshold of AOT (869) = 0.3 was used to identify the dusty atmosphere. Despite improved results in the MODIS nLw(λ) using the proposed approach, Chl-a models (OC3 and OC2) show low performance when compared to the in situ Chl-a measurements collected during several field campaigns organized by local, regional and international organizations. This discrepancy might be caused by the improper parametrization of these models or/and the improper selection of bands. Thus, an adaptive power fit algorithm (R2 = 0.95) has been proposed to improve the estimation of Chl-a concentration from 0.07 to 10 mg/m3 by using a new blue/red MODIS band ratio of (443,488)/645 instead of the default band ratio used for OC3(443,488)/547. The selection of this new band ratio (443,488)/645 has been based on using band 645 nm which has been found to represent both water turbidity and algal absorption. [Termes IGN] surveillance géologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) A novel method called knowledge-guided spatio-temporal consistent correlation analysis (KSTCCA) was developed to discover reliable deformation features induced by multiple factors based on multimode landslide monitoring data. Compared to conventional approaches, KSTCCA integrates both temporal and spatial correlation analysis to improve the consistency of deformation patterns and capture the spatio-temporal heterogeneities in multimode monitoring data. KSTCCA considers both the landslide deformation mechanisms and the relationships between different influential factors as knowledge. Moreover, the method extracts the morphological structures of monitoring curves based on a seven-point approach and identifies knowledge rules using the k-means clustering method. Under the guidance of prior knowledge, a spatial correlation analysis is conducted based on support vector regression, and a temporal correlation analysis of the time lag is carried out based on the morphological structure features. Finally, three kinds of typical monitoring data, including deformation, rainfall, and reservoir water level data collected in the Baishuihe landslide area, China, are used for experimental analysis to verify the validity of the proposed method. However, UHI studies on cities in mountain regions are still lacking. This study aims to contribute to this endeavor by monitoring and examining the formation of surface UHI (SUHI) in a tropical mountain city of Southeast Asia –Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines– using Landsat data (1987–2015). However, few studies have measured the stability of aggregate human convergence or divergence patterns. We propose a spatiotemporal model for assessing the stability of human convergence and divergence patterns. A mobile phone location data set obtained from Shenzhen, China, was used to assess the stability of daily human convergence and divergence patterns at three different spatial scales, i.e. points (cell phone towers), lines (bus lines) and areas (traffic analysis zones [TAZs]). Our analysis results demonstrated that the proposed model can identify points and bus lines with time-dependent variations in stability, which is useful for delineating TAZs for transportation planning, or adjusting bus timetables and routes to meet the needs of bus riders. Comparisons of the results obtained from the proposed model and the widely used entropy measure indicated that the proposed model is suitable for assessing the differences in stability for various types of spatial analysis units, e.g. cell phone towers. Therefore, the proposed model is a useful alternative approach of measuring spatiotemporal stability of aggregate human convergence and divergence patterns, which can be derived from the space–time trajectories of moving objects. Therefore, any attempt to investigate potential zones of groundwater for further management of water supply is necessary. Hence, many researchers have worked on this subject all around the world. On the other hand, the Generalized Additive Model (GAM) has been applied to environmental and ecological modelling, but its applicability to other kinds of predictive modelling such as groundwater potential mapping has not yet been investigated. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of GAM model and then its comparison with three popular GIS-based bivariate statistical methods, namely Frequency Ratio (FR), Statistical Index (SI) and Weight-of-Evidence (WOE) for producing groundwater spring potential map (GSPM) in Lorestan Province Iran. To achieve this, out of 6439 existed springs, 4291 spring locations were selected for training phase and the remaining 2147 springs for model evaluation. Next, the thematic layers of 12 effective spring parameters including altitude, plan curvature, slope angle, slope aspect, drainage density, distance from rivers, topographic wetness index, fault density, distance from fault, lithology, soil and land use/land cover were mapped and integrated using the ArcGIS 10.2 software to generate a groundwater prospect map using mentioned approaches. The produced GSPMs were then classified into four distinct groundwater potential zones, namely low, moderate, high and very high classes. The results of the analysis were finally validated using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve technique. The results indicated that out of four models, SI is superior (prediction accuracy of 85.4%) following by FR, GAM and WOE, respectively (prediction accuracy of 83.7, 77 and 76.3%). The result of groundwater spring potential map is helpful as a guide for engineers in water resources management and land use planning in order to select suitable areas to implement development schemes and also government entities.
