[Termes IGN] surcharge océaniqueRésumé : (Auteur) Ocean tide loading (OTL) displacement amplitudes and phase lags of SHAO site are estimated by global positioning system (GPS), kinematic precise point positioning (PPP) and spectral analysis using 19 years of continuous GPS observations. In kinematic PPP, the 66 additional harmonic displacement parameters are replaced by the three time-varying displacement parameters without a priori modelled OTL displacements. By comparing the results with predictions from hybrid regional/global models, we are able to demonstrate that GPS/model agreements are at the level of 0.2 mm (horizontal) and 0.6 mm (vertical) for the four lunar constituents, 0.4 mm (horizontal) and 1.35 mm (vertical) for the four solar/sidereal constituents, and 0.2 mm (horizontal) and 0.3 mm (vertical) for the three long-period constituents. Finally, we conclude that GPS-derived lunar constituents can substitute for the model corrections in GPS data processing and the accuracy of GPS-derived solar/sidereal constituents needs to be improved by further studies. [Vedettes matières IGN] Végétation et changement climatiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Comparing the growth rate of natural forest and plantation forest may be useful to better understand rates of carbon sequestration and carbon turnover. However, the large-scale patterns of biomass growth rates in China’s forests are still not well defined. We analyzed the growth rates of forest leaves, branches, stems, and roots across forest communities in China by using data collection, collation, and systematic analysis of published research and our unpublished data. The biomass growth rates in all forests exhibited negative latitudinal trends and negative altitudinal trends, with significant influence from climatic variables and stand characteristics. Stand characteristics explained more variation in growth rates of forest biomass than did climatic variables, and growth rates of forest leaves, branches, stems, and roots varied in relation to climate, stand characteristics, and forest origin. The cross-validated results of stepwise multiple regression (SMR) models and neural network models (NNM) indicated that the prediction accuracy of growth rate of forest biomass by NNM was better than that of the SMR models. Our results improve understanding of the environmental factors affecting Chinese forest growth and inform efforts to model dynamics of carbon accumulation in China’s forests. Specifically, we predict the number of people who will move from one area to another, their probable trajectories, and the corresponding likelihoods of those trajectories in the near future, such as within an hour. With this prediction, we will identify the hot road segments where potential traffic jams might occur and reveal the formation of those traffic jams. Accurate predictions of human trajectories at a city level in real time is challenging due to the uncertainty of people’s spatial and temporal mobility patterns, the complexity of a city level’s road network, and the scale of the data. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a method which includes several major components: (1) a model for predicting movements between neighboring areas, which combines both latent and explicit features that may influence the movements; (2) different methods to estimate corresponding flow trajectory distributions in the road network; (3) a MapReduce-based distributed algorithm to simulate large-scale trajectory distributions under real-time constraints. We conducted two case studies with taxi data collected from Beijing and New York City and systematically evaluated our method. Unfortunately, several historical monuments are under deteriorating conditions mainly due to the lack of knowledge about their historical importance. Hence, it is necessary to provide efficient solutions to preserve these monuments. An effective approach for the preservation of cultural heritage should address two main aspects: documentation and information. The first aspect is related to methods that are used to document and digitally archive historic buildings by using appropriate materials and techniques for acquiring 3D spatial data. The second aspect aims to inform the population and policy makers about the importance of the historical heritage in a simple, effective, and interactive manner. In this paper, we propose an original approach to design a semantically enriched historical spatial database (SEH-SDB) for documentation and information of monumental heritage. First of all, a LiDAR acquisition of the historical heritage should be undertaken to capture its current condition. Then, the SEH-SDB database will be designed according to four semantic packages related to historical buildings that are (1) Components package, (2) Material package, (3) Historical package, and (4) Social package. The component package is based on the CityGML standard, which ensures a high interoperability for 3D models. The material package represents the material used in the construction of the building (wood, stone …). The historical package informs about historical elements that characterize the building and its temporal evolution. The social package aims to inform about the main social activities that may take place in the historical building. Based on the SEH-SDB, a 3D historical GIS is developed to provide rich semantic information about historical sites. At the end of this paper, a case study of a historical monument named “Ribat Banajah” in Jeddah Historical City in Saudi Arabia is presented. A digital archiving of the current state of this building is performed by using terrestrial LiDAR in combination with other classical surveying techniques (traversing, leveling, and GPS). Then, a building information model of this building is created and exported to the 3D HGIS designed for the documentation of historical buildings. [Termes IGN] Web Processing ServiceRésumé : (auteur) An online spatial biodiversity model (SBM) for optimized and automated spatial modelling and analysis of geospatial data is proposed, which is based on web processing service (WPS) and web service orchestration (WSO) in parallel computing environment. The developed model integrates distributed geospatial data in geoscientific processing workflow to compute the algorithms of spatial landscape indices over the web using free and open source software. A case study for Uttarakhand state of India demonstrates the model outputs such as spatial biodiversity disturbance index (SBDI) and spatial biological richness index (SBRI). In order to optimize and automate, an interactive web interface is developed using participatory GIS approaches for implementing fuzzy AHP. In addition, sensitivity analysis and geosimulation experiments are also performed under distributed GIS environment. Results suggest that parallel algorithms in SBM execute faster than sequential algorithms and validation of SBRI with biological diversity shows significant correlation by indicating high R2 values.
