[Termes IGN] surface hétérogèneRésumé : (Auteur) Evapotranspiration is an important part in surface energy balance and water balance. Compared with other methods (micrometeorological, climatological, or hydrological method), the remote sensing model has obvious superiority to estimate regional evapotranspiration over heterogeneous surfaces. In this study, based on Landsat TM/ETM+ data and meteorological data, evapotranspiration in Beijing area on 17 April 2001, 12 April 2002, 06 July 2004, 06 May 2005, and 22 May 2005 were calculated by an estimation model of regional evapotranspiration. Comparisons of energy balance components (net radiation, soil heat flux, sensible and latent heat flux) with measured fluxes were made integrating the remotely sensed fluxes by the footprint model. Results show that latent heat flux estimates (adjusted for closure) with errors (MBE1RMSE) 26.47142.54 Wm-2, sensible heat flux error of -8.56123.79 Wm-2, net radiation error of 25.16150.87 Wm-2 and soil heat flux error of 10.68122.81 Wm-2. The better agreement between the estimates and the measurements indicates that the remote sensing model is appropriate for estimating regional evapotranspiration over heterogeneous surfaces. Furthermore, the spatial distribution of evapotranspiration in Beijing area was analyzed. [Termes IGN] sous ensemble flouRésumé : (Auteur) A supervised neural network classification model based on rough-fuzzy membership function, weak fuzzy similarity relation, multilayer perceptron, and back-propagation algorithm is proposed. The described model is capable of dealing with rough uncertainty as well as fuzzy uncertainty associated with the classification of multispectral images. The concept of weak fuzzy similarity relation is used for generation of fuzzy equivalence classes during the calculation of rough-fuzzy membership function. The model allows efficient modelling of indiscernibility and fuzziness between patterns by appropriate weights being assigned using the back-propagated errors depending upon the rough-fuzzy membership values at the corresponding outputs. The effectiveness of the proposed model is demonstrated on classification problem of IRS-P6 LISS IV image of Allahabad area. The results are compared with statistical (minimum distance to means), conventional Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) and Fuzzy Multi-Layer Perceptron (FMLP) models. The better overall accuracy, user's and producer's accuracies and kappa coefficient of the proposed classifier in comparison to other considered models demonstrate the effectiveness of this model in multispectral image classification. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (Auteur) Using Landsat TM data from 1995 and 2000, changes in the landscape erosion pattern of the Yellow River Basin, China were analysed. The aim was to improve our understanding of soil-erosion change so that sustainable land use could be established. First, a soil-erosion intensity index model was developed to study soil-erosion intensity change in the study area. Over the 5 years, the areas of weak erosion, moderate erosion, severe erosion, and very severe erosion all increased. The area of weak erosion increased dramatically by 7.94*105 ha, and areas of slight erosion and acute erosion decreased by 1.93*106 ha and 4.50*104 ha, respectively. The results show that while the intensity of soil erosion has gradually been decreasing as a whole, in some regions the soil erosion is becoming more severe. Based on landscape indices, the pattern of changes in soil erosion over the past 5 years was analysed. The changes in landscape pattern of soil erosion resulted from human activities. Analysis showed that human impact increases fragmentation, having three major effects on landscape pattern, reduction in patch area, variations in patch shape, and changes in spatial pattern. In the study area, population growth, farming, governmental policy and forest degradation are the major factors causing soil erosion change over a 5-year period. Pour cela, il est nécessaire de pouvoir caractériser la géométrie et le volume de chaque réservoir. L'objectif est de construire une carte géologique volumique permettant d'accéder à une quantification des réserves en eau dans le bassin versant du Nahr Beyrouth au Liban. En effet, l'utilisation du modèle géologique volumique peut se révéler fondamentale pour la recherche sur les systèmes aquifière dans un pays où la demande en eau potable devient forte. L'originalité de la demande en méthode repose sur l'utilisation de données de surface issues de la télédétection et d'une carte géologique pour générer le modèle en profondeur. En corollaire, nous proposons une application pour simuler la porosité d'un réservoir potentiel correspondant à la couche des grès de base du crétacé inférieur. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) The Digital Elevation Model (DEM) derived from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission is the most accurate near-global elevation model that is publicly available. However, it contains many data voids, mostly in mountainous terrain. This problem is particularly severe in the rugged Oman Mountains. This study presents a method to fill these voids using a fill surface derived from Russian military maps. For this we developed a new method, which is based on Triangular Irregular Networks (TINs). For each void, we extracted points around the edge of the void from the SRTM DEM and the fill surface. TINs were calculated from these points and converted to a base surface for each dataset. The fill base surface was subtracted from the fill surface, and the result added to the SRTM base surface. The fill surface could then seamlessly be merged with the SRTM DEM. For validation, we compared the resulting DEM to the original SRTM surface, to the fill DEM and to a surface calculated by the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) from the SRTM data. We calculated the differences between measured GPS positions and the respective surfaces for 187,500 points throughout the mountain range (?GPS). Comparison of the means and standard deviations of these values showed that for the void areas, the fill surface was most accurate, with a standard deviation of the ?GPS from the mean ?GPS of 69 m, and only little accuracy was lost by merging it to the SRTM surface (standard deviation of 76 m). The CIAT model was much less accurate in these areas (standard deviation of 128 m). The results show that our method is capable of transferring the relative vertical accuracy of a fill surface to the void areas in the SRTM model, without introducing uncertainties about the absolute elevation of the fill surface. It is well suited for datasets with varying altitude biases, which is a common problem of older topographic information.
