[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) The sustainable management and monitoring of urban forests is an important activity in the urbanized world, and operational approaches require information about the status of urban trees to determine the best strategy. One limitation in urban forest studies is the detection and discrimination of tree species using limited training data. Thus, this study focuses on developing generic rule sets from high-resolution WorldView-2 imagery in conjunction with spectral, spatial, colour and textural information for automated urban tree species detection. The object-based image analysis and its combination with statistical analysis of object features is utilized for this purpose. Results of attribute selection indicated that from 55 attributes, only 26 were useful to discriminate urban tree species, namely Messua ferrea L., Samanea saman and Casuarina sumatrana. Finally, the high overall accuracy, approximately 86.87% with kappa of 0.75 confirmed the transferability of the generic model. [Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (Auteur) Offline networks have been the subject of intense academic scrutiny for many decades, but we still know little about the nationwide spatial interaction patterns and its application for public opinion management of online social networks. With the aim of uncovering the geographic interaction characteristics of online public opinion propagation, we analyze a large dataset obtained from WeChat, the most popular social media application in China, and construct the spatial interaction network G, which contains 359 city-nodes. It is found that the communities in the network and the administrative division corresponded well with each other, and cities with high betweenness and degree also develop well in the economy. Public opinion propagation depends on the state of online interaction. The findings indicate that public opinion should be managed separately by regions divided according to the community division, and different regions should adopt different management methods according to their economic, historical and political characteristics. In our work, the possibility and opportunity is presented to study the spatial interaction patterns of online public opinion propagation with the massive behavioral data and the methods of complex network. [Vedettes matières IGN] Végétation et changement climatiqueRésumé : (auteur) Past and present environmental changes cause significant changes in tree growth in many parts of the world, where both decreasing and increasing growth trends have been detected over the last decades. The Mediterranean basin is especially sensitive to climate change and subsequent tree growth declines. In this article, we present the first study on recent tree growth trends in Turkey. Pinus nigra is a drought-sensitive species and one of the most common and economically important native conifers to Turkey. Tree-ring cores were taken from 61 Pinus nigra plots spread over the entire Lakes District (Southwest Turkey), near the species’ southern range limit. The samples cover the 1839–2013 time period. We apply the Regional Curve Standardization technique and statistical modeling to the tree ring width data to investigate long-term growth trends. Both methods show remarkably similar results: a slowly increasing growth trend until the 1970s, followed by a decreasing trend. This recent negative trend is highly correlated with increased temperature and drought in summer, which suggests that it is likely caused by climate change. [Termes IGN] TaïwanRésumé : (auteur) Characterizing active faults and quantifying their activity are major concerns in Taiwan, especially following the major Chichi earthquake on 21 September 1999. Among the targets that still remain poorly understood in terms of active tectonics are the Hengchun and Kenting faults (Southern Taiwan). From a geodynamic point of view, the faults affect the outcropping top of the Manila accretionary prism of the Manila subduction zone that runs from Luzon (northern Philippines) to Taiwan. In order to better locate and quantify the location and quantify the activity of the Hengchun Fault, we start from existing geological maps, which we update thanks to the use of two products derived from unmanned aircraft system acquisitions: (1) a very high precision ( Numéro de notice : A2018-239 Affiliation des auteurs : UPEM-LASTIG+Ext (2016-2019) Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.5194/nhess-18-829-2018 Date de publication en ligne : 15/03/2018 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.5194/nhess-18-829-2018 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=90191

[Termes IGN] WebSIGRésumé : (auteur) The concept of static flood inundation extent libraries and their utilisation to anticipate the extent of inundation to alert and evacuate the population likely to get affected has been suggested by many researchers in different prototype studies. Actual implementation of the concept for a nation like India demands an automated practical operational software framework for systematic organisation, retrieval and visualisation of flood inundation extent libraries in a Geographic Information System (GIS) environment. Implementation of a software framework in a Web GIS environment facilitates decision-makers to access the inundation library with a functionality to overlay other spatial layers for proper situation assessment and decision-making. Utilisation of an open source software library for developing the software framework reduces the overall project cost and its re-distribution. The present work addresses the development of an automated operational framework for one of the chronically flood affected states in India (Bihar) using open source libraries for updating libraries, cataloguing, database organisation, retrieval of data and visualisation of flood extent. The developed framework first reads and arranges the flood forecast information followed by database organisation for identifying the corresponding inundation extent and other related layers available in the library for visualisation.
