[Termes IGN] QGISRésumé : (auteur) Contour lines are a key features of topographic maps as they make the comprehension of terrain more easy. But they are no longer drawn by cartographers, they are mostly automatically derived from digital terrain models. Despite real progress in this automated derivation, some specific terrain landscapes remain incorrectly depicted with such techniques, and this is the case for karstic plateaus full of sinkholes. This paper proposes a specific automated method to derive better contour lines in plateaus, particularly around sinkholes. The process first detects karstic plateaus with many sinkholes, as well as the individual sinkholes. Then, the DTM is smoothed to better reflect the terrain in the plateau and in its surroundings. As a third step, the contour lines around sinkholes are enhanced to draw legible round features that better reflect the real terrain. The process was implemented in a QGIS plugin and tested on a small area with a karstic plateau in the Jura mountain in France, and the cartographers of IGN, the French national mapping agency assessed the results as a great improvement compared to the generic automated process to derive contour lines. Note de contenu : 1- Introduction

This study was carried out in Jamari National Forest, located in the Brazilian Amazon. The response variable was AGB (Mg/ha) estimated from airborne laser surveys. The following treatments were considered as model predictors: 1) Sentinel-1 Sigma 0 at VV and VH polarizations; 2) (1) plus Sentinel-1 textural metrics; 3) (2) plus Sentinel-2 bands and derived vegetation indices (LAI, RVI, SAVI, NDVI).Our modeling design estimated the relative importance of SAR vs. optical variables in explaining AGB. The modeling was performed with twelve machine-learning algorithms including, neural network and regression tree. The addition of texture and optical data provided a noticeable improvement (3%) over models with SAR backscatter only. The best model performance was achieved with the Random Tree algorithm. Our results demonstrate the potential of freely-available SAR data and machine learning for mapping AGB in tropical ecosystems. [Termes IGN] modèle de géopotentielRésumé : (auteur) The AntGrav project, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) has the main objective to homogenize and optimize Antarctic gravity field information. Within this project an evaluation procedure is needed to inspect all different kind of gravity field surveys available in Antarctica. In this paper a suitable methodology is proposed.
We present an approach for fast 3D gravity point data reduction in different spectral bands. This is achieved through pre-calculating a fine 3D mesh of synthesized gravity functionals over the entirety of the Antarctic continent, for which two different global models are used: the combined satellite model GOCO05s for the long-wavelength part, and the topographic model Earth2014 for the shorter wavelengths. To maximize the applicability separate meshes are calculated for different spectral bands in order to specifically reduce a certain band or a selected combination. All meshes are calculated for gravity anomalies as well as gravity disturbances. Utilizing these meshes, synthesized gravity data at arbitrary positions is computed by conventional 3D interpolation methods (e.g. linear, cubic or spline).
It is shown that the applied approach can reach a worst-case interpolation error of less than 1 mGal. Evaluation results are presented for the AntGG grid and exemplary for the in-situ measurements of the AGAP and BAS-LAND campaigns. While general properties, large-scale errors and systematic effects can usually be detected, small-scale errors (e.g. of single points) are mostly untraceable due to the uncertainties within the topographic model.
