[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) 3D geo-visualization is more and more used and appreciated to support public participation, and is generally used to present predesigned planned projects. Nevertheless, other participatory processes may benefit from such technology such as the elaboration of urban planning documents. In this article, we present one of the objectives of the PLU++ project: the design of a 3D geo-visualization system that eases the participation concerning local urban plans. Through a pluridisciplinary approach, it aims at covering the different aspects of such a system: the simulation of built configurations to represent regulation information, the efficient stylization of these objects to make people understand their meanings and the interaction between 3D simulation and stylization. The system aims at being adaptive according to the participation context and to the dynamic of the participation. It will offer the possibility to modify simulation results and the rendering styles of the 3D representations to support participation. The proposed 3D rendering styles will be used in a set of practical experiments in order to test and validate some hypothesis from past researches of the project members about 3D simulation, 3D semiotics and knowledge about uses. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (Auteur) A novel maximum likelihood-based range estimation algorithm is designed to provide robustness to multipath, which is recognized as a dominant error source in DS-CDMA-based navigation systems. The detection–estimation problem is jointly solved to sequentially estimate the parameters of each individual multipath component and predict the existence of a next possible component. A comparison between contemporary maximum likelihood-based multipath estimation techniques and this new technique is provided. A selection of realistic channel simulation models is used to assess relative performance under different operating situations. A set of real GPS L1/CA data processing results are also presented to further assess the applicability of the proposed algorithm for urban navigation. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Recent advances in 3D scanning technologies allow us to acquire accurate and dense 3D scan data of large-scale environments efficiently. Currently, there are various methods for acquiring large-scale 3D scan data, such as Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS), Airborne Laser Scanning, Terrestrial Laser Scanning, photogrammetry and Structure from Motion (SfM). Especially, MLS is useful to acquire dense point clouds of road and road-side objects, and SfM is a powerful technique to reconstruct meshes with textures from a set of digital images. In this research, a registration method of point clouds from vehicle-based MLS (MLS point cloud), and textured meshes from the SfM of aerial photographs (SfM mesh), is proposed for creating high-quality surface models of urban areas by combining them. In general, SfM mesh has non-scale information; therefore, scale, position, and orientation of the SfM mesh are adjusted in the registration process. In our method, first, 2D feature points are extracted from both SfM mesh and MLS point cloud. This process consists of ground- and building-plane extraction by region growing, random sample consensus and least square method, vertical edge extraction by detecting intersections between the planes, and feature point extraction by intersection tests between the ground plane and the edges. Then, the corresponding feature points between the MLS point cloud and the SfM mesh are searched efficiently, using similarity invariant features and hashing. Next, the coordinate transformation is applied to the SfM mesh so that the ground planes and corresponding feature points are adjusted. Finally, scaling Iterative Closest Point algorithm is applied for accurate registration. Experimental results for three data-sets show that our method is effective for the registration of SfM mesh and MLS point cloud of urban areas including buildings.
