[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Research in change detection from optical satellite data is widely investigated as a support for visual image analysis. Most of the methods, however, are based on radiometric changes and are suffering from high false alarms rate due to irrelevant radiometric changes. Change detection based on the elevation difference between two dates, therefore, seems a good alternative to identify relevant changes, especially in a context of urban change detection. In the present work, we provide a fully automatic method of change detection based on a digital surface model (DSM) comparison. The processing flow includes the bundle block adjustment of all the available data as a preprocessing step, followed by an improved DSM generation scheme and a differential DSM analysis. The last two steps have been formulated as labeling problems and solved by an optimization method with a spatial regularization constraint. The solution of these labeling problems is computed with a generalized dynamic programming algorithm that is adapted according to the input data and the defined labels. The final DSMs reach a planimetric and altimetric resolution of about 1 m, allowing changes from 20nbspm2 to be detected. The results show that 33%-75% (respectively about 95%) of all changes (respectively, changes larger than 100nbspm2) are detected, depending on the employed regularization and the area. Moreover, the calculated kappa coefficient of the processing flow reaches up to 0.80, which emphasizes the method accuracy. All the above features lead to a significant gain compared to the classical visual image analysis. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur)An effective approach to spectral-spatial classification has been achieved using Hierarchical SEGmentation (HSEG) by Tarabalka et al. (2009 and 2010). Our goal is to improve this approach to the classification of hyperspectral images in urban areas. The first step of our proposed method is to segment the spectral images using a novel marker-based HSEG, method. The spatial features from segmented images are then extracted. Spatial information such as the area, entropy, shape, adjacency, and relation features constitute the components of feature space. Last, using both spectral and spatial features, the image objects are classified by a support vector machine (SVM) classifier. Three image data-sets were used to test this method. The results of our experiment indicate that the main advantage of the proposed method, compared to the previous HSEG-based approach, is that it increases classification accuracy by selecting the appropriate contextual features of different objects. [Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (Auteur) Certain datasets on moving objects are episodic in nature – that is, the data is characterized by time gaps during which the position of the object is unknown. In this article, a model is developed to study the sparsely sampled network-constrained movement of several objects by calculating both potential and feasible (i.e. more likely) co-presence opportunities over time. The approach is applied to the context of a static sensor network, where the location of an object is only registered when passing a sensor location along a road network. Feasibility is incorporated based on the deviation from the shortest path. As an illustration, the model is applied to a large Bluetooth tracking dataset gathered at a mass event. The model output consists of maps showing the temporal evolution of the distribution of feasible co-presence opportunities of tracked visitors over the network (i.e. the number of visitors that could have been present together). We demonstrate the model's usefulness in studying the movement and distribution of a crowd over a study area with relatively few sampling locations. Finally, we discuss the results with a special emphasis on the distinction between feasible and actual presence, the need for further validation and calibration, and the performance of the implementation.
