[Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (auteur) Cet article étudie les fortes discontinuités spatiales dans les métropoles asiatiques et de leurs effets potentiels sur les populations en termes de santé. Les facteurs d’exposition aux risques varient en effet dans la vie des individus, que ce soit sur le temps long des migrations résidentielles ou le temps courts des mobilités quotidiennes. Dans le contexte des épidémies de dengue, c’est cette seconde modalité de la mobilité urbaine qui nous intéresse, car elle contribue à différencier les expositions au virus entre individus, au-delà de celles liées à leurs seuls lieux de résidence. Cette réflexion s’appuie sur l’exploration de jeux de données originaux qui permettent désormais de mieux caractériser les structures et les dynamiques dans des villes où le chercheur ne disposait pas, il y encore peu, de données spatialisées. La diffusion d’Internet, des smartphones et des applications ouvrant à la géolocalisation, a en effet contribué à renouveler les opportunités de recueil de données pour les chercheurs. Nous proposons dans cet article d’explorer les données issues de Google POI (Point Of Interest) et du réseau social Twitter pour dresser une typologie des activités de la ville de Bangkok et pour mieux en mesurer les pulsations par les mobilités quotidiennes qui s’y exercent. [Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (Auteur) The timely and secure evacuation of residents to nearby urban emergency shelters is of great importance during unexpected disaster events. However, evacuation and allocation of shelters are seldom examined as a whole, even though they are usually closely related tasks in disaster management. To conduct better spatial allocation of emergency shelters in cities, this study proposes a new method which integrates techniques of multi-agent system and multi-criteria evaluation for spatial allocation of urban emergency shelters. Compared with the traditional emergency shelter allocation methods, the proposed method highlights the importance of dynamic emergency evacuation simulations for spatial allocation suitability analysis. Three kinds of agents involved in evacuation and sheltering procedures are designed: government agents, shelter agents, and resident agents. Emergency evacuations are simulated based on the interactions of these agents to find potential problems, for example, time-consuming evacuation processes and road congestion. A case study in Jing’an District, Shanghai, China was conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method. After three rounds of simulation and optimization, new shelters were spatially allocated and a detailed recommended plan of shelters and related facilities was generated. The optimized spatial allocation of shelters may help local residents to be evacuated more quickly and securely. [Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (Auteur) Location-based social networks (LBSN) have provided new possibilities for researchers to gain knowledge about human spatiotemporal behavior, and to make predictions about how people might behave through space and time in the future. An important requirement of successfully utilizing LBSN in these regards is a thorough understanding of the respective datasets, including their inherent potential as well as their limitations. Specifically, when it comes to predictions, we must know what we can actually expect from the data, and how we could maximize their usefulness. Yet, this knowledge is still largely lacking from the literature. Hence, this work explores one particular aspect which is the theoretical predictability of LBSN datasets. The uncovered predictability is represented with an interval. The lower bound of the interval corresponds to the amount of regular behaviors that can easily be anticipated, and represents the correct predication rate that any algorithm should be able to achieve. The upper bound corresponds to the amount of information that is contained in the dataset, and represents the maximum correct prediction rate that cannot be exceeded by any algorithms. Three Foursquare datasets from three American cities are studied as an example. It is found that, within our investigated datasets, the lower bound of predictability of the human spatiotemporal behavior is 27%, and the upper bound is 92%. Hence, the inherent potentials of the dataset for predicting human spatiotemporal behavior are clarified, and the revealed interval allows a realistic assessment of the quality of predictions and thus of associated algorithms. Additionally, in order to provide further insight into the practical use of the dataset, the relationship between the predictability and the check-in frequencies are investigated from three different perspectives. It was found that the individual perspective provides no significant correlations between the predictability and the check-in frequency. In contrast, the same two quantities are found to be negatively correlated from temporal and spatial perspectives. Our study further indicates that the heavily frequented contexts and some extraordinary geographic features such as airports could be good starting points for effective improvements of prediction algorithms. In general, this research provides novel knowledge regarding the nature of the LBSN dataset and practical insights for a more reasonable utilization of the dataset. [Vedettes matières IGN] CartologieRésumé : (Auteur) This paper describes a study of the evaluation of cartographic quality of urban plans in the Czech Republic using eye-tracking. Although map visualization is a crucial part of the urban planning process, only a few studies have focused on the evaluation of these maps. The plans of four Czech cities with different styles of visualization and legends were used in this eye-tracking experiment. Respondents were required to solve spatial tasks consisting of finding and marking a certain symbol on a map. Statistical analyses of various eye-tracking metrics were used, and the differences between experts and students and between the map and legend sections of the stimuli were explored. The study results showed that the quality of map symbols and the map legend significantly influence the legibility and understandability of urban plans. For correct decision-making, it is essential to produce maps according to certain standards, to make them as clear as possible, and to perform usability testing on them. [Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (Auteur) Offline networks have been the subject of intense academic scrutiny for many decades, but we still know little about the nationwide spatial interaction patterns and its application for public opinion management of online social networks. With the aim of uncovering the geographic interaction characteristics of online public opinion propagation, we analyze a large dataset obtained from WeChat, the most popular social media application in China, and construct the spatial interaction network G, which contains 359 city-nodes. It is found that the communities in the network and the administrative division corresponded well with each other, and cities with high betweenness and degree also develop well in the economy. Public opinion propagation depends on the state of online interaction. The findings indicate that public opinion should be managed separately by regions divided according to the community division, and different regions should adopt different management methods according to their economic, historical and political characteristics. In our work, the possibility and opportunity is presented to study the spatial interaction patterns of online public opinion propagation with the massive behavioral data and the methods of complex network.
