[Termes IGN] zone semi-arideRésumé : (auteur) This work is focused on the daily cycle of the backscattering radar coefficient over two different crop Mediterranean types: olive trees and wheat, The MOCTAR experiment consists in the acquisitions of radar fully polarimetric interferometric C-band data acquired continuously at 10 min time step from the top of a tower. The study site is located in semiarid region, near Marrakech, in Morocco. Our first results highlight significant daily variations of intensities and temporal decorrelation, and provide a core database to better explain their link with physical variables such as water content and sapflow. [Termes IGN] surface cultivéeRésumé : (éditeur) Crop models and remote sensing techniques have been combined and applied in agriculture and crop estimation on local and regional scales, or worldwide, based on the simultaneous development of crop models and remote sensing. The literature shows that many new remote sensing sensors and valuable methods have been developed for the retrieval of canopy state variables and soil properties from remote sensing data for assimilating the retrieved variables into crop models. At the same time, remote sensing has been used in a staggering number of applications for agriculture. This book sets the context for remote sensing and modelling for agricultural systems as a mean to minimize the environmental impact, while increasing production and productivity. The eighteen papers published in this Special Issue, although not representative of all the work carried out in the field of Remote Sensing for agriculture and crop modeling, provide insight into the diversity and the complexity of developments of RS applications in agriculture. Five thematic focuses have emerged from the published papers: yield estimation, land cover mapping, soil nutrient balance, time-specific management zone delineation and the use of UAV as agricultural aerial sprayers. All contributions exploited the use of remote sensing data from different platforms (UAV, Sentinel, Landsat, QuickBird, CBERS, MODIS, WorldView), their assimilation into crop models (DSSAT, AQUACROP, EPIC, DELPHI) or on the synergy of Remote Sensing and modeling, applied to cardamom, wheat, tomato, sorghum, rice, sugarcane and olive. The intended audience is researchers and postgraduate students, as well as those outside academia in policy and practice. [Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (auteur) Real-time identification of the occurrence of dangerous pathogens is of crucial importance for the rapid execution of countermeasures. For this purpose, spatial and temporal predictions of the spread of such pathogens are indispensable. The R package papros developed by the authors offers an environment in which both spatial and temporal predictions can be made, based on local data using various deterministic, geostatistical regionalisation, and machine learning methods. The approach is presented using the example of a crops infection by fungal pathogens, which can substantially reduce the yield if not treated in good time. The situation is made more difficult by the fact that it is particularly difficult to predict the behaviour of wind-dispersed pathogens, such as powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici). To forecast pathogen development and spatial dispersal, a modelling process scheme was developed using the aforementioned R package, which combines regionalisation and machine learning techniques. It enables the prediction of the probability of yield- relevant infestation events for an entire federal state in northern Germany at a daily time scale. To run the models, weather and climate information are required, as is knowledge of the pathogen biology. Once fitted to the pathogen, only weather and climate information are necessary to predict such events, with an overall accuracy of 68% in the case of powdery mildew at a regional scale. Thereby, 91% of the observed powdery mildew events are predicted Numéro de notice : A2020-116 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.3390/ijgi9010044 Date de publication en ligne : 15/01/2020 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/ijgi9010044 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=94723

[Termes IGN] zone semi-arideRésumé : (auteur) The sensitivity of the backscattering coefficient and the interferometric coherence to surface soil moisture changes and wheat crops growth was analyzed using the time series derived from C-band Sentinel-1. Results show that the interferometric coherence is sensitive to wheat biomass while the backscatter intensity is more influenced by the surface soil moisture (SSM) changes. A new method to retrieve SSM combining the interferometric coherence and C-band backscattering coefficient acquired by Sentinel-1 is tested over two irrigated wheat plots during two growth seasons around Marrakech city (center of Morocco). It is shown that SSM can be estimated with a reasonable accuracy from sowing to harvest (R=0.65; RMSE =0.07m3/m3; bias =0.01m3/m3). These results enhance the potentialities of Sentinel1 data for SSM retrieval even in the presence of a dense canopy.
