[Termes IGN] traitement automatique de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we present the GéOnto project, aiming in particular to build an ontology of topographic concepts. This ontology is made by enrichment of a first taxonomy developed beforehand, through the analysis of two types of textual documents: technical database specifications and description of journeys. This work relies on natural language processing and ontology alignment techniques, as well as external knowledge resources such as dictionaries and gazetteers. Tous passionnés par leur métier, ils n'ont pas pu avoir de vocation pour une profession qui n'existait pas même dans leur jeunesse. Même si chacun a suivi un itinéraire bien particulier, quelques constantes émergent. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Auteur) Signal detection theory (SDT) is a framework used by psychologists to study decision making under uncertain conditions. While we often know a great deal about how different methodological choices can affect the outcome of an analysis, we know less about how information end users interpret and understand competing outcomes in the context of the decisions they are trying to make. We contend that such information would be useful and assert that SDT analysis is one method of building this understanding. We provide an introduction to SDT methods and an example of the methods applied to a navigation experiment, discuss why SDT may be useful for GIScientists, and provide several examples of other potential application areas. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Editeur) The 3D imaging industry has grown rapidly despite inconsistencies in terminology among vendors, lack of uniform methods for testing terrestrial laser scanners, and data exchange challenges. The presence of industry standards can help product vendors and end users to overcome these challenges and thus further accelerate the successful adoption of this exciting technology. In this article, Alan M. Aindow, vice chairman of the ASTM International E57 Technical Committee on 3D Imaging Systems, describes the scope and benefits of this Committee that works on developing industry standards for terrestrial laser scanners.
