[Termes IGN] tectonique des plaquesRésumé : (Auteur) Tectonic faults are often associated with characteristic geomorphological features such as linear valleys, ridgelines and slope breaks that can be identified as lineaments in remotely sensed images or digital terrain models. Lineaments of tectonic origin are often characterised by periodicity and characteristic spatial pattern. Unlike traditional methods of autocorrelation, variogram, lineament density and Fourier analysis, wavelet analysis is capable of capturing and describing both periodicity and spatial pattern of lineaments. In this paper, a case study is shown for the application of wavelet analysis to morphotectonic lineament investigation. Results of wavelet analysis are compared to traditional methods. Although this study involves DEM-derived morphological lineaments, the presented wavelet analysis can be also used for lineaments derived from remotely sensed images. These results hold for this case study and provide a good assessment of the relative abilities of wavelet analysis, but it remains to be seen how effective it is for other data sources, areas and geological terrain. [Termes IGN] précision des donnéesRésumé : (auteur) The paper focuses on comparing accuracies obtained with photogrammetry and laser scanning in building extraction and partly compares results obtained with various methods. The objective of the EuroSDR Building Extraction comparison was to evaluate the quality, accuracy, feasibility and economical aspects of semi-automatic building extraction based on photogrammetric techniques with the emphasis on commercial and/or operative systems, semi-automatic and automatic building extraction techniques based on high density laser scanner data and semi-automatic and automatic building extraction techniques based on integration of laser scanner data and aerial images (hybrid technique). The project consists of three test sites by Finnish Geodetic Institute (FGI), namely Senaatti, Hermanni and Espoonlahti and one test site by Institut Geographique National (IGN), namely Amiens. For each test site following data was provided to the partners: aerial images, camera calibration and image orientation information, ground control point coordinates and jpg images of point locations (not for Amiens), laser scanner data and cadastral map vectors of selected buildings. Participants were requested to create the vectors of 3D city models. 3D-models were obtained from 11 participants. Paper confirms with experiments that laser scanning is more suitable in deriving building heights, extracting planar roof faces and ridges of the roof whereas the photogrammetry and aerial images are more suitable in building outline and length determination. CyberCity, Stuttgart and TerraScan (performed by ICC) solutions provided the highest accuracy. There seemed to be a higher variation in the quality of other models depending on test site or remotely sensed information. [Termes IGN] précision de localisationRésumé : (Auteur) Currently, high precision kinematic GPS positioning with centimetre-level accuracy can only be carried out using a differential GPS (DGPS) positioning approach which requires the deployment of a GPS receiver at each base station. The DGPS approach, spatially limits the operating range of the rover receiver to about 20 km from the base stations. As a result, it increases not only the operational cost of equipment and human resources but also the logistical complexity of many applications such as land and geodetic surveying, and airborne mapping. With the increased availabiliiy of precise GPS satellite orbit and clock data with reduced latency from the International GPS Service (IGS) and many other organizations, high precision kinematic at centimetre to decimetre-level is now possible using a single GPS receiver. This paper describes a method known as precise point positioning and its application to airborne kinematic positioning. Different from the conventional DGPS approach, the new method does not need a base station since the positioning determination is based on the processing of un-differenced code and carrier-phase observations from a single GPS receiver. It therefore eliminates the dependency on base station and the rover range limitation associated with conventional methods, resulting in instant advantages in field operations. A software system that has been developed at the University of Calgary will also be described in this paper along with numerical results to demonstrate the positioning accuracy obtainable. The objects to be measured must not be accessible for the few minutes of continuous data acquisition, as they should be in the case of photogrammetric recording techniques. The scanning instruments are able, however, to ensure data acquisition rates of over 1000 discrete points per second.
In addition to the introduction to the technology of scanning polar measuring systems, this work deals with the development of suitable algorithms for the acceleration of the measurement and evaluation process. In the context of the calibration of scanning polar measuring systems with tachymetric measuring principles, special aspects are considered in the sub-field of structured geometry data acquisition, and the difficulties in combining sets of data from individual instrument points of view.
The combination of the readings from different instrument points of view in a standard primary system can be seen as a time-consuming factor in the evaluation of data from scanning measuring systems. Through the use of the procedure described in this work a reduction of the required evaluation time can be reached. By an automated extraction of iso-levels from the point clouds and a subsequent automatic assignment of the identities using projective transformations, the resulting iso-levels can be inspected with respect to the linked systern instrument points of view. The additional marking and subsequent measurement of reference points can therefore be avoided.
The development of an appropriate calibration method for scanning polar measuring systems based on tachymetric measuring principles is a second central point of this work. Special attention is given in this work to the regulation of systematic deviations and the precision details of the various integrated sensors. A system calibration method based on an extension of existing calibration procedures is proposed. Building on the point connection algorithms, a calibration method is introduced. This uses iso-levels and the help of the adjustment algorithm to estimate calibration parameters, as well as the precision of the measuring instruments. In conclusion, the efficiency and bounds of the calibration approach are examined and evaluated using measurements from two different laser scanners.Numéro de notice : 13269 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=54949 Réservation
