[Termes IGN] RomeRésumé : (Auteur) On the Aventine Minor, the oratory of Santa Silvia was home to a community of oriental monks, who, in the first half of the seventeenth century, created a typical Palestinian cemetery with a small monastery that expanded with the growing prestige of the community. The construction of the Basilica of San Saba, above the oratory, was by a group of monks, “the Benedettini di Montecassino,” who lived there in the middle of the tenth century. The substructure was only recovered in the early 1900s. The study of this architectural structure is particularly interesting because there were no complete surveys and the available documentation, as far as we know, was limited to a graphical plan and section. For this reason and due to the archeological significance, it has been selected as a national research project (PRIN 2010–2011). The research has requested detailed documentation through laser scanning and photographic-based documentation. The goal of the present work is to produce a documentation of the oratory from CAD model to the BIM construction. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) The Swiss Train Challenge is to set foot in all 26 cantons of Switzerland in as little time as possible, using only public transportation. Relying on human intuition informed by a geographical information system to select the relevant train stations, and on computational power to solve the resulting mixed-integer linear optimization problem, we find a solution that beats the current record of 17 hours and 19 minutes, by 25 minutes. When testing our itinerary in practice, we made all connections but one for which the arriving train was 20 minutes delayed - a rare event in switzerland. This is the first time that an algorithm has been used to calculate the Swiss Train Challenge itinerary. [Termes IGN] variogrammeRésumé : (auteur) Mitigating the atmospheric phase delay is one of the largest challenges faced by the differential synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry community. Recently, many publications have studied correcting the stratified tropospheric phase delay by assuming a linear model between them and the topography. However, most of these studies have not considered the effect of turbulent atmospheric artifacts when adjusting the linear model to data. In this paper, we present an improved technique that minimizes the influence of the turbulent atmosphere in the model adjustment. In the proposed algorithm, the model is adjusted to the phase differences of pixels instead of using the unwrapped phase of each pixel. In addition, the different phase differences are weighted as a function of its atmospheric phase screen covariance estimated from an empirical variogram to reduce, in the model adjustment, the impact of pixel pairs with a significant turbulent atmosphere. The good performance of the proposed method has been validated with both the simulated and real Sentinel-1A SAR data in the mountainous area of Tenerife island, Spain.
