[Termes IGN] VénézuelaRésumé : (Auteur) This paper describes progress in the development of a landslide susceptibility model which is based on slope stability equations. Using a test area in the Venezuelan Andes, we show how model inputs can be derived from suitably pre-processed Landsat TM data and maps of the area. Pre-processing steps include geometric and terrain corrections. A combination of unsupervised and supervised classification algorithms is applied to the corrected TM data to derive a land cover map. The paper concludes with a summary of future research activity. [Termes IGN] SicileRésumé : (Auteur) Comparing images in the visible bands with maps from Istituto Geografico Militare Italiano, it was possible to localise many changes in the shape of the coastline of southern Sicily, Italy, from Porto Empedocle to Capo Passero, on the Italian side of the Malta Channel due to erosion and deposits. It was possible, also, to understand the effects of shore protection structures on coastline changes and on the ports development from a large scale point-of-view. Since behind the study area, along the coast, the land is very sensitive to rain erosion, significant images were selected, among many others, showing the effects of meteorological events on the sea. In particular, images showing the effects of rivers silt flooding along the coast were processed, in order to obtain information on the changes of the distribution in the above mentioned parameters in the sea water. From the analysis of these images, much useful information on the coastal areas sensitive to deposit and erosion was acquired. [Termes IGN] surveillance météorologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Spain is a country which is particularly affected by drought given that during the period from 1880 to 1980 over 50% of years were dry or very dry. During the 1990s the period from 1992 to 1995 was one of the driest in the century. In 1992 losses caused by drought in cereal crops were put at 50 655 million pesetas (47% of the total production value). In 1995 losses in crops were estimated at 27 971 million pesetas (30% of the total production value). The identification of areas affected by drought using information supplied by the AVHRR sensor on the NOAA satellites is viable if a sufficiently large data base is available and could prove useful for those in charge of monitoring this type of phenomena. Absolute gravimetry was introduced into the WYEPEA gravity control in 1990, within the frame of a cooperation project between the Institute of Seismology, State Seismological Bureau (ISSSB), Wuhan, and the Institut für Erdmessung (IfE), University of Hannover, Germany. Three observation campaigns were performed (1990, 1992, 1995) employing the JILAG-3 absolute gravity meter of IfE. Six absolute stations have been established in the area, and additional absolute measurements were carried out in the reference stations Beijing, Wuhan, and Kunming. Relative gravity measurements between the absolute stations served for an independent control and connect the existing GPS control network to the gravity net. In addition, a micro gravity net and a vertical gravity gradient line have been established and remeasured, in order to study local gravity variations at selected fault zones.
The accuracy of the absolute gravity results is estimated to ±0.05 µms- while the repeatability is slightly better. In the local systems a relative accuracy of ±0.01 ... 0.03 µms- has been achieved. Large-scale gravity variations with time could not be detected between 1990 and 1995, but local changes due to groundwater-table variations or seismic activity may reach 0.1µms-. In the local systems small gravity changes have been found, with a certain correlation to tectonic structures.
The report presents the final results of the project, especially station descriptions and gravity values for the epochs 1990, 1992, and 1995. It thus will serve as a basis for future gravity campaigns, and analyzing gravity changes which might be detected then.Numéro de notice : 57511 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Monographie Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=60224 Réservation
