[Termes IGN] varianceRésumé : (Auteur) In this article, we borrow from the blind noise parameter estimation (BNPE) methodology early developed in the image processing field an original and innovative no-reference approach to estimate digital elevation model (DEM) vertical error parameters without resorting to a reference DEM. The challenges associated with the proposed approach related to the physical nature of the error and its multifactor structure in DEM are discussed in detail. A suitable multivariate method is then developed for estimating the error in gridded DEM. It is built on a recently proposed vectorial BNPE method for estimating spatially correlated noise using noise informative areas and fractal Brownian motion. The new multivariate method is derived to estimate the effect of the stacking procedure and that of the epipolar line error on local (fine-scale) standard deviation and autocorrelation function width of photogrammetric DEM measurement error. Applying the new estimator to Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) GDEM2 and Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) World 3D DEMs, good agreement of derived estimates with results available in the literature is evidenced. Adopted for TanDEM-X-DEM, estimates obtained agree well with the values provided in the height error map. In future works, the proposed no-reference method for analyzing DEM error can be extended to a larger number of predictors for accounting for other factors influencing remote sensing (RS) DEM accuracy. [Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) This study aims at the investigation of GNSS-PP method to determine the dynamic characteristics of structures. Cantilever steel bars having lengths of 70, 100 and 120 cm were tested under dynamic excitation. The GNSS was used to measure the natural frequencies and damping values of all the tested cantilever structures. The GNSS data were processed using relative GNSS positioning and PPP methods. The results obtained using these two methods were also compared with the dynamic characteristics obtained by applying the theoretical and finite element (FE) methods. Furthermore, it is investigated the impact of the stable data length before oscillation events on kinematic PPP. The study showed that the maximum difference among the experimental results in terms of natural frequencies proceeded using PPP is 0.08 Hz when compared with the theoretical and FE results. Furthermore, there is no difference between the PPP and relative GNSS positioning in determining the dynamic behaviour of structures eventhough roving GNSS antenna remains motionless for short-time, such as a few-minutes, before an event occurred. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Many studies are in an effort to explore urban spatial structure, and urban functional regions have become the subject of increasing attention among planners, engineers and public officials. Attempts have been made to identify urban functional regions using high spatial resolution (HSR) remote sensing images and extensive geo-data. However, the research scale and throughput have also been limited by the accessibility of HSR remote sensing data. Recently, big geo-data are becoming increasingly popular for urban studies since research is still accessible and objective with regard to the use of these data. This study aims to build a novel framework to provide an alternative solution for sensing urban spatial structure and discovering urban functional regions based on emerging geo-data – points of interest (POIs) data and an embedding learning method in the natural language processing (NLP) field. We started by constructing the intraurban functional corpus using a center-context pairs-based approach. A word embeddings representation model for training that corpus was used to extract multiprototype vectors in the second step, and the last step aggregated the functional parcels based on an introduced spatial clustering method, hierarchical density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (HDBSCAN). The clustering results suggested that our proposed framework used in this study is capable of discovering the utilization of urban space with a reasonable level of accuracy. The limitation and potential improvement of the proposed framework are also discussed. [Termes IGN] surface forestièreRésumé : (auteur) Since Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data are capable of distinguishing vegetation from bare earth, these data are used nowadays to produce digital terrain models (DTMs) for forest regions. In this research, raw LiDAR data were filtered using hybrid and slope-based filtering methods and the filtered data were then interpolated using the new modified particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and accordingly the results were compared with those achieved by the other intelligent and conventional interpolation methods. The new modified PSO optimized the polynomial degree for interpolation and found suitable parameters for optimisation. Two data sets from two forest regions in some northern regions of Iran located in Golestan province were selected to compare these methods. Region 1 with dense vegetation and region 2 with grass vegetation. The results indicated that the hybrid filter performed lower RMSE than the slope-based filter. Finally, the DTM with lowest RMSE was obtained using the hybrid filter and the modified PSO interpolation method with RMSE of 6 mm for region 1 (Tavar-kuh) and 61 mm for region 2 (Shastkola River Basin). [Termes IGN] valeur propreRésumé : (Auteur) For the classification of pole‐like objects (trees, lamp posts, traffic lights and traffic signs) in mobile laser scanning (MLS) point clouds, a hierarchical classification method is proposed. The method consists of three major steps. (1) The objects’ cylindrical column sections are detected based on the characteristics of arc‐like points using RANSAC after denoising. (2) These detected objects are roughly classified into trees and man‐made poles based on the azimuthal coverage of point clouds above the cylindrical column. (3) Eigenvalue analysis and the principal direction of the upper pole projections are used to differentiate lamp posts, traffic lights and traffic signs. Experimental analysis shows that the method can effectively identify different types of pole‐like objects.
