[Termes IGN] zone semi-arideRésumé : (Auteur) Le problème traité dans cet article s'inscrit dans le cadre général de la classification multicapteurs en télédétection. L'objectif est de présenter et de mettre en oeuvre une méthodologie faisant appel à la fusion de données en analyse d'images satellitales et de contribuer à formaliser quelques problèmes liés à la fusion multicapteurs. Comme méthode de fusion de données, le choix s'est porté sur celle de Dempster-Schafer, afin de tenir compte de l'hétérogénéité des données et de l'incertitude liée à leur interprétation. La recherche s'est déroulée en deux temps. D'abord, une classification bayésienne non-dirigée a été effectuée respectivement sur une image RSO de RADARSAT et sur une image HRV (XS) de SPOT. Ensuite, une fusion radar-optique a été réalisée sur les résultats des deux classifications. Ayant calculé les valeurs des fonctions de masses, la plausibilité et la croyance pour chacune des hypothèses simples et composées du modèle multisources (Smets, 1990) il était nécessaire de définir un critère de décision, afin de sélectionner l'hypothèse optimale. Dans la théorie de Dempster-Shafer, les deux grandeurs à maximiser sont la plausibilité et la croyance. Comme résultat de la fusion, on obtient une image classée en quatre classes (zones humides, zones de sebkha, parcelles cultivées, zones de végétation naturelles). Le pourcentage de bonne classification finale a atteint 98,7% . Cela correspond à une amélioration par rapport à la carte de l'occupation du sol obtenue par une classification basée sur l'union des classes. Specific fuzzy membership functions have been derived to simulate spatial changes between consecutive snapshots registered in the database. The proposed approach is tested on a very dynamic rural-urban environment of Montreal Metropolitan area in Quebec, Canada, covering the period from 1956 to 1986 with a temporal resolution of ten years. A user friendly software package named FUZZY TEMP was developed and integrated in the GRASS 4.1 environment in order to perform the implementation of the developed concepts.
