[Termes IGN] visualisation de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) This article extends earlier work on visualizing parameter estimates for spatial analysis. Robust parameters are those that are resistant to outliers, and so are order-based rather than moment-based in their derivation. The principles of geographical weighting of descriptive statistics are reviewed and applied to the development and computation of geographically weighted quantile graphs. The principles are also applied to the development and mapping of robust geographically weighted regression models. The robust statistics and parameters developed in this article are especially useful for visual exploratory data analysis because they provide local information in two contexts: with respect to spatial proximity and with respect to proximity in the quantiles of the variable of interest. The suitability of the results for visualization in maps and quantile plots is demonstrated. [Termes IGN] équation linéaireRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we study the decay to the equilibrium state for the solution of the linear Boltzmann equation in the torus Td=Rd/ZdTd=Rd/Zd, d∈Nd∈N, by allowing that the non-negative cross section σ can vanish in a subregion X:={x∈Td|σ(x)=0}X:={x∈Td|σ(x)=0} of the domain with meas(X)⩾0meas(X)⩾0 with respect to the Lebesgue measure. We show that the geometrical characterization of X is the key property to produce exponential decay to equilibrium. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we propose a fundamental approach to perform the class of Range and Nearest Neighbor (NN) queries, the core class of spatial queries used in location-based services, without revealing any location information about the query in order to preserve users’ private location information. The idea behind our approach is to utilize the power of one-way transformations to map the space of all objects and queries to another space and resolve spatial queries blindly in the transformed space. Traditional encryption based techniques, solutions based on the theory of private information retrieval, or the recently proposed anonymity and cloaking based approaches cannot provide stringent privacy guarantees without incurring costly computation and/or communication overhead. In contrast, we propose efficient algorithms to evaluate KNN and range queries privately in the Hilbert transformed space. We also propose a dual curve query resolution technique which further reduces the costs of performing range and KNN queries using a single Hilbert curve. We experimentally evaluate the performance of our proposed range and KNN query processing techniques and verify the strong level of privacy achieved with acceptable computation and communication overhead. [Termes IGN] représentation cartographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Local regression methods can provide specific information about individual observations (places) in spatial analysis that is often useful in understanding non-stationary covariate relationships. Geographically weighted regression (GWR) is one widely used local regression model whose parameter estimates are mapped as continuous or discrete surfaces. A less frequently used local regression method used in spatial analysis is quantile regression (QR). One drawback to the use of QR is its restricted visualization possibilities; currently, regression parameter summaries for QR are visualized only as line graphs that plot parameter estimates against quantile levels. This article presents a method that also permits the spatial display of these values in a choropleth map so that QR can be added to the cartographic repertoire of exploratory data models.
