Several applications are available that do not require a user expert or expensive equipment. In this paper, four free systems were applied in two cases: ReMake, which is a freemium software, CMP Web Service and Arc 3D, which are free web services, and Visual SfM, which is a free software. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the applications that support topographical measurements and to assess the potential for their use in accurate modelling. The results show that these systems can be an auxiliary technique for surveyors and can provide an advantage in some cases. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (Auteur) With the product TopPlusOpen, the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) has for the first time provided a freely accessible web map, which is based entirely on open or free data sources. For this purpose, the BKG processed and combined many different data sources in order to achieve the best possible map presentation. Among others, free official spatial data of the Federal Government and the Open Data states Berlin, Hamburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Thuringia are presented in the product. Furthermore, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Rhineland-Palatinate provide their official spatial data for TopPlusOpen based on a cooperation agreement so that also these states are presented exclusively by official data. The services of the TopPlusOpen were released in September 2017. The product was very well received by the public, private and scientific sectors and is already used as a background map in many geoportals. The free access and the cross-border map presentation are especially mentioned. By using the advantages of the Delaunay triangulation, this paper proposes a novel image matching method. First, neighboring structures of randomly distributed feature points are formed with the assistance of the Delaunay triangulation and its corresponding graph, and the image planes are simultaneously divided into patches of near-regular triangles. Second, two constraints, a photometric constraint and a geometric constraint, are implemented based on the constructed neighboring structures, which incorporate the hierarchical elimination and left-right checking strategies to deliver the influences of outliers on the decision of inliers and ensure the high precision of the final matches. The former utilizes a line descriptor as a second-order photometric constraint, and the latter adopts the spatial angular order (SAO) to achieve a geometric constraint for the calculation of dissimilarity scores between correspondences. In addition, with the constraints between triangles of the refined Delaunay triangulation and its corresponding graph, a match expansion is designed to exploit as many inliers as possible. Finally, a reliable image matching algorithm is proposed by sequentially executing the three constraints for outlier elimination and match expansion. Under comprehensive analysis and comparison with five state-of-the-art algorithms, the performance of the proposed method is verified by using both rigid and non-rigid datasets. The experimental results demonstrate that the Delaunay triangulation is sufficient to construct neighboring structures for the implementation of local photometric and geometric constraints, and the proposed method can achieve good performance in terms of the precision, recall and number of inliers, and provide reliable matches for stereo image pairs with both rigid and non-rigid transformations. [Termes IGN] signal GPSRésumé : (Auteur) This study analyzes the characteristics of GPS tropospheric estimates (zenith wet delays – ZWDs, gradients, and post-fit phase residuals) during the passage of mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) and evaluates their sensitivity to the research-level GPS data processing strategy implemented. Here, we focus on MCS events observed during the monsoon season of West Africa. This region is particularly well suited for the study of these events due to the high frequency of MCS occurrences in the contrasting climatic environments between the Guinean coast and the Sahel. This contrast is well sampled with data generated by six African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis (AMMA) GPS stations. Tropospheric estimates for a 3-year period (2006–2008), processed with both the GAMIT and GIPSY-OASIS software packages, were analyzed and intercompared. First, the case of a MCS that passed over Niamey, Niger, on 11 August 2006 demonstrates a strong impact of the MCS on GPS estimates and post-fit residuals when the GPS signals propagate through the convective cells as detected on reflectivity maps from the MIT C-band Doppler radar. The estimates are also capable of detecting changes in the structure and dynamics of the MCS. However, the sensitivity is different depending on the tropospheric modeling approach adopted in the software. With GIPSY-OASIS, the high temporal sampling (5 min) of ZWDs and gradients is well suited for detecting the small-scale, short-lived, convective cells, while the post-fit residuals remain quite small. With GAMIT, the lower temporal sampling of the estimated parameters (hourly for ZWDs and daily for gradients) is not sufficient to capture the rapid delay variations associated with the passage of the MCS, but the post-fit phase residuals clearly reflect the presence of a strong refractivity anomaly. The results are generalized with a composite analysis of 414 MCS events observed over the 3-year period at the six GPS stations with the GIPSY-OASIS estimates. A systematic peak is found in the ZWDs coincident with the cold pool crossing time associated with the MCSs. The tropospheric gradients reflect the path of the MCS propagation (generally from east to west). This study concludes that ZWDs, gradients, and post-fit phase residuals provide relevant and complementary information on MCSs passing over or in the vicinity of a GPS station. [Termes IGN] ToulouseRésumé : (Auteur) While shadow can give useful information about size and shape of objects, it can pose problems in feature detection and object detection, thereby, it represents one of the major perturbator phenomenons frequently occurring on images and unfortunately, it is inevitable. “Shadows may lead to the failure of image analysis processes and also cause a poor quality of information which in turn leads to problems in implementation of algorithms.” (Mahajan and Bajpayee, 2015). It also affects multiple image analysis applications, whereby shadow cast by buildings deteriorate the spectral values of the surfaces. Therefore, its presence causes a deterioration in the visual image's quality and limits the information that the former could give. Ignoring the existence of shadows in images may cause serious problems in various visual processing applications such as false objects detection. In this context, many researches have been conducted through years. However, it is still a challenge for analysts all over the world to find a fully automated and efficient method for shadow removal from images.
