[Termes IGN] transport publicRésumé : (auteur) The purpose of the paper is to create clear visualization of passenger traffic for Saint Petersburg subway system. This visualization can be used to better understand the passenger flow and to make more informed decisions in future planning. Research was based on officially published information about passenger traffic on subway station for years 2016 and 2018. Visualization was created with the variety of methods and software: Voronoi diagrams (QGIS software), social gravitation potential (R programming language), presentation of gravitation potential as a relief (Blender software), service zones of ground transport accessibility (2GIS, QGIS and Mapbox mapping platform). In this research, authors propose the use of intersection between the service zones and social gravitation potential isolines as an instrument for spatial analysis of traffic data. Analysis shown that current development of subway system does not correspond to passenger distribution. All stations were classified according to their accessibility and propositions about future directions of development were made. [Termes IGN] visualisation cartographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) This paper addresses the suitability of different cartographic design variants for visually communicating recommended routes. We performed a user study, investigating the potential of six different design variants (color hue, distortion, length distortion, size, spacing, and symbols) for influencing route choice using cartographic visualization methods while recommending a longer, but less congested route. The visualizations for all design variants have been prepared in three different levels of intensity of modification (weak, medium, and strong). Although the input data (traffic density) is the same for all representation methods, variations are each visualized using different cartographic design principles. Our results showed that in general, for the majority of routing scenarios, the participants’ route choice has been significantly influenced toward choosing the recommended route – indicating that the modification of route visualizations does actually lead to a different route choice behavior. Results further revealed that for most variants, willingness to choose the recommended route increases with higher intensity of modification. While some of the design variants like symbols or length distortion have been found effective for recommending routes at all levels of intensity, others like size and spacing have not been found suitable. A comparison between route choices and estimated route characteristics suggested a close relationship between willingness to choose the recommended route and the characteristics participants associate with the representation. In particular, route visualizations that create an impression of faster, more convenient, or more fluent travel experience are more likely to influence route choice behavior. [Termes IGN] sismicitéRésumé : (auteur) The Landslide happens in mountainous regions due to the catastrophe of slope through intensive rain and seismicity. The Himalayas is one of the susceptible parts of the world in the perspective of slope catastrophe hazard; i.e., Mass Movement, especially Neelum valley is considerable destruction of community infrastructure, highway, and critically disturbed the tourism segment. Landslide is a common and recurrent phenomenon in the northern mountainous terrain of Pakistan such as District Neelum. After the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, the importance of landslide investigation is increasing. The purpose of this research is to establish a brief landslide inventory and to determine the relationship of landslides with causative factors by spatial distribution analysis. With the aid of Google Earth imageries and field visits, a total of 618 landslides were identified in the study area of 3621 km. These landslide localities compared with causative factors. Finally, distribution maps are generated and analyse their feature class through Digital Elevation Model and ArcGIS. Landslide intensity is calculated in terms of landslide concentration. Landslide concentration (LC) is significantly found very high in slope gradient less than 30 (1.21) and the first 100 m zone around the road network (15.06). A bit higher landslide frequency is noted in east orienting slopes. In the first 100 m, zone road network and drainage networks are 83.49% and 62.78% of the total landslide occurs having LC value 4.6, respectively. The analysis shows that the steep slopes, an area closer to the road network, drainage network, barren lands, and Quaternary alluvium of loose material are more susceptible to landslides. In addition, a landslide classification map is also prepared on the basis of field observation that shows that debris slides are more dominating.
