[Termes IGN] système d'information historiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The aim of the project that is described in this paper was to define a four-level timber frame survey mode of a historical building: the so-called “Andlau's Seigniory”, Alsace, France. This historical building was built in the late XVIth century and was in a stage of renovation in order to become a heritage interpretation centre. The used measurement methods combine Total Station measurements, Photogrammetry and 3D Terrestrial Laser scanner. Different modelling workflows were tested and compared according to the data acquisition method, but also according to the characteristics of the reconstructed model in terms of accuracy and level of detail. 3D geometric modelling of the entire structure was performed including modelling the degree of detail adapted to the needs. The described 3D timber framework exists now in different versions, from a theoretical and geometrical one up to a very detailed one, in which measurements and evaluation of deformation by time are potentially allowed. The virtually generated models involving archaeologists, architects, historians and specialists in historical crafts, are intended to be used during the four stages of the project: (i) knowledge of the current state of needs for diagnosis and understanding of former construction techniques; (ii) preparation and evaluation of restoration steps; (iii) knowledge and documentation concerning the archaeological object; (iv) transmission and dissemination of knowledge through the implementation of museum animations. Among the generated models one can also find a documentation of the site in the form of virtual tours created from panoramic photographs before and during the restoration works. Finally, the timber framework model was structured and integrated into a 3D GIS, where the association of descriptive and complementary digital documents was possible. Both offer tools leading to the diagnosis, the understanding of the structure, knowledge dissemination, documentation and the creation of educational activities. The integration of these measurements in a historical information system will lead to the creation of an interactive model and the creation of a digital visual display unit for consultation. It will be offered to any public to understand interactively the art of constructing a Renaissance structure, with detailed photos, descriptive texts and graphics. The 3D digital model of the framework will be used directly in the interpretation path, within the space dedicated to “Seigniory” of Andlau. An interactive touch-screen will be installed. It will incorporate several levels of playgrounds (playful, evocative and teaching). In a virtual way, it will deal with the different stages of building a wooden framework and clarify the art of construction. [Termes IGN] service fondé sur la positionRésumé : (auteur) Our lives are affected by myriads of events happening daily all over the world. For efficient planning and management of complex systems composed of various components, understanding relationships between an event and the reactive behaviour of involved components is vital. Analysing these complex relations demands a spatiotemporal event-based model, in which the event plays a central role. In this article we develop a framework which provides the possibility of mapping and storing event-related information on the OpenStreetMap (OSM) platform by volunteers. The study is divided into two different phases: first, mapping the event elements by adding new attributes adequately designed to encode spatiotemporal and semantic event information; and, second, representing the event-related information on a map by developing a Web application, offering a volunteered location-based service. To facilitate the event-mapping procedure, a Java OpenStreetMap (JOSM) plug-in was developed for volunteers. The plug-in was developed based on the notion of an event to adequately store and manipulate the semantic information of events in the OSM structure. The tool was used by more than 100 volunteers in Munich for the years 2012 to 2014. In addition to manual collection of event-related information by volunteers, a crawling framework was also developed to automatically collect freely available event information from various Web pages on the Internet. The framework extracts the same event elements as the plug-in. But the framework crawls each Web page according to some pre-defined rules and follows a post-processing step, if necessary. The manually collected events along with the crawled event information are visualized in a Web application. The study revealed that adding the possibility of event-oriented mapping to OSM empowers volunteers to collect a higher level of information (event information) for city maps. This information can furthermore be used for strategy development and service planning by decision-makers. [Termes IGN] retard troposphériqueRésumé : (auteur) Observation data sets from three different periods and 23 International GNSS Service (IGS) stations spread over the world were processed in static mode using four online free precise point positioning (PPP) services: Automatic Precise Positioning Service (APPS), GPS Analysis and Positioning Software, Canadian Spatial Reference System precise point positioning service, and Magic-PPP. The estimated positions of the 23 IGS stations were compared with the published values. The estimated zenith tropospheric delays (ZTDs) at these stations were compared with the corresponding IGS troposphere products published on the IGS Web site. Furthermore, in order to analyze PPP precision for short observation periods, GPS observation data sets with a sampling rate of 1 s collected by one CORS station were also processed by the four online PPP services. Calculation shows that the precision of daily solutions for north and east (N/E) components estimated by the four online PPP services can reach millimeter level, the precision of ellipsoid elevation (H) can reach 1–2 cm, and precision of ZTDs estimation results is approximately 1–2 cm. Compared with the corresponding values published on the IGS Web site, the precision of ZTDs estimated by APPS is higher than those estimated by the other three PPP online services; the differences between ZTDs by APPS and IGS values are mostly within ±1 cm. For PPP with short observation periods, the precision of N/E components within 2, 1, and 0.5 h observation periods can reach about 2–3, 2–7, and 3–8 cm, respectively, while the precision of H components is about 3–5, 5–12, and 10–18 cm, respectively. [Termes IGN] littoral méditerranéenRésumé : (auteur) Desertification is a complex environmental phenomenon that affects many regions worldwide, including the Mediterranean area. Its effects, primarily resulting from climate variations and also influenced by human-induced changes, impact upon potential regional progress due to significant economic losses, social problems and ecological damage. The aim of this study was the identification of sensitive areas to desertification at watershed scale, in the Bradano River basin (Basilicata, southern Italy). The analysis was carried out by means of the model developed within the European project MEDALUS (MEditerranean Desertification And Land USe), which identifies prone areas to desertification through the Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESAs) index. The model parameters were implemented and processed using a GIS-based approach to evaluate climate, soil, vegetation and management system quality factors, which represent the input for the ESAs assessment. The results indicate that 35% of the study area is highly sensitive to desertification, 49% of the study area has moderate sensitivity to desertification, 12% has low sensitivity and only 4% is non-sensitive to desertification.
