[Termes IGN] superpositionRésumé : (auteur) With the objective of improving the registration of lidar point clouds produced by kinematic scanning systems, we propose a novel trajectory adjustment procedure that leverages on the automated extraction of selected reliable 3D point–to–point correspondences between overlapping point clouds and their joint integration (adjustment) together with raw inertial and GNSS observations. This is performed in a tightly coupled fashion using a dynamic network approach that results in an optimally compensated trajectory through modeling of errors at the sensor, rather than the trajectory, level. The 3D correspondences are formulated as static conditions within the dynamic network and the registered point cloud is generated with significantly higher accuracy based on the corrected trajectory and possibly other parameters determined within the adjustment. We first describe the method for selecting correspondences and how they are inserted into the dynamic network via new observation model while providing an open-source implementation of the solver employed in this work. We then describe the experiments conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed framework in practical airborne laser scanning scenarios with low-cost MEMS inertial sensors. In the conducted experiments, the method proposed to establish 3D correspondences is effective in determining point–to–point matches across a wide range of geometries such as trees, buildings and cars. Our results demonstrate that the method improves the point cloud registration accuracy (5 in nominal and 10 in emulated GNSS outage conditions within the studied cases), which is otherwise strongly affected by errors in the determined platform attitude or position, and possibly determine unknown boresight angles. The proposed methods remain effective even if only a fraction (0.1%) of the total number of established 3D correspondences are considered in the adjustment. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) Typically, navigation software processes global navigation satellite system (GNSS) phase observables along with the code observables to achieve high-precision positioning. However, the unmodeled code-related errors, typically multipath effects, may deteriorate the positioning performance. Such effects are well known for the second generation BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS-2). To prevent this adverse effect on the state-of-the-art positioning technique, namely integer ambiguity resolution-enabled precise point positioning (PPP-RTK), we propose a multi-frequency phase-only PPP-RTK model. This model excludes the code observables and addresses the rank deficiency problem underlying the phase observation equations at the undifferenced and uncombined level. To verify the model, we collect five-day triple-frequency BDS 30-s data from a network of seven reference stations (about 112 km apart) to estimate the products on the network side. Based on these products, we conduct simulated dynamic positioning at a user station to test the phase-only PPP-RTK model and compare it with the customary code-plus-phase (CPP) model. The results show that the satellite phase biases, existing only at the third frequency, have a precision of better than two centimeters, while the precision of the satellite clock and ionospheric delay is better than eight centimeters. Due to the strong correlation between individual corrections, it is necessary to assess the quality of combined products, including the satellite clock, satellite phase bias and ionospheric delay, the precision of which is several millimeters to two centimeters, which is sufficiently precise for user positioning. Regarding BDS-2 positioning, the time-to-first-fix (TTFF) of the CPP PPP-RTK is 12 epochs, while it is only three epochs for the phase-only PPP-RTK. The reason why the CPP model underperforms the phase-only model is that the BDS-2 data collected are subject to notable code multipath. We show that the code multipath in the third-generation BDS (BDS-3) data is mild, so the CPP PPP-RTK achieves instantaneous centimeter-level positioning with a TTFF of one epoch. The BDS-3 phase-only PPP-RTK obtains virtually the same positioning results, but the TTFF is two epochs. When combining BDS-2 with BDS-3, the TTFF of both models remains unchanged compared to that of the BDS-3 solutions, implying that ambiguity resolution based on the stronger dual-system CPP model is robust to the BDS-2 code multipath. However, the ambiguity-float solution of the CPP PPP-RTK is adversely affected by the code multipath and requires 43 epochs to convergence, while its phase-only counterpart needs 36 epochs. [Termes IGN] température de surface de la merRésumé : (auteur) The Sentinel-3 satellites are equipped with dual-band Microwave Radiometers (MWR) to derive the wet tropospheric correction (WTC) for satellite altimetry. The deployed MWR lack the 18 GHz channel, which mainly provides information on the surface emissivity. Currently, this information is considered using additional parameters, one of which is the sea surface temperature (SST) extracted from static seasonal tables. Recent studies show that the use of a dynamic SST extracted from Numerical Weather Models (ERA5) improves the WTC retrieval. Given that Sentinel-3 carries on board the Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR), from which SST observations are derived simultaneously with those of the Synthetic Aperture Radar Altimeter and MWR sensors, this study aims to develop a synergistic approach between these sensors for the WTC retrieval over open ocean. Firstly, the SLSTR-derived SSTs are evaluated against the ERA5 model; secondly, their impact on the WTC retrieval is assessed. The results show that using the SST input from SLSTR, instead of ERA5, has no impact on the WTC retrieval, both globally and regionally. Thus, for the WTC retrieval, there seems to be no advantage in having collocated SST and radiometer observations. Additionally, this study reinforces the fact that the use of dynamic SST leads to a significant improvement over the current Sentinel-3 WTC operational algorithms. [Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (auteur) The matching problem for heterologous remote sensing images can be simplified to the matching problem for pseudo homologous remote sensing images via image translation to improve the matching performance. Among such applications, the translation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical images is the current focus of research. However, the existing methods for SAR-to-optical translation have two main drawbacks. First, single generators usually sacrifice either structure or texture features to balance the model performance and complexity, which often results in textural or structural distortion; second, due to large nonlinear radiation distortions (NRDs) in SAR images, there are still visual differences between the pseudo-optical images generated by current generative adversarial networks (GANs) and real optical images. Therefore, we propose a dual-generator translation network for fusing structure and texture features. On the one hand, the proposed network has dual generators, a texture generator, and a structure generator, with good cross-coupling to obtain high-accuracy structure and texture features; on the other hand, frequency-domain and spatial-domain loss functions are introduced to reduce the differences between pseudo-optical images and real optical images. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on publicly available optical and SAR datasets. Our method improves the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) by 21.0%, the chromatic feature similarity (FSIMc) by 6.9%, and the structural similarity (SSIM) by 161.7% in terms of the average metric values on all test images compared with the next best results. In addition, we present a before-and-after translation comparison experiment to show that our method improves the average keypoint repeatability by approximately 111.7% and the matching accuracy by approximately 5.25%. [Termes IGN] voxelRésumé : (Auteur) The classification of airborne laser scanning (ALS) point clouds is a critical task of remote sensing and photogrammetry fields. Although recent deep learning-based methods have achieved satisfactory performance, they have ignored the unicity of the receptive field, which makes the ALS point cloud classification remain challenging for the distinguishment of the areas with complex structures and extreme scale variations. In this article, for the objective of configuring multi-receptive field features, we propose a novel receptive field fusion-and-stratification network (RFFS-Net). With a novel dilated graph convolution (DGConv) and its extension annular dilated convolution (ADConv) as basic building blocks, the receptive field fusion process is implemented with the dilated and annular graph fusion (DAGFusion) module, which obtains multi-receptive field feature representation through capturing dilated and annular graphs with various receptive regions. The stratification of the receptive fields with point sets of different resolutions as the calculation bases is performed with Multi-level Decoders nested in RFFS-Net and driven by the multi-level receptive field aggregation loss (MRFALoss) to drive the network to learn in the direction of the supervision labels with different resolutions. With receptive field fusion-and-stratification, RFFS-Net is more adaptable to the classification of regions with complex structures and extreme scale variations in large-scale ALS point clouds. Evaluated on the ISPRS Vaihingen 3D dataset, our RFFS-Net significantly outperforms the baseline (i.e. PointConv) approach by 5.3% on mF1 and 5.4% on mIoU, accomplishing an overall accuracy of 82.1%, an mF1 of 71.6%, and an mIoU of 58.2%. The experiments show that our RFFS-Net achieves a new state-of-the-art classification performance on powerline, car, and fence classes. Furthermore, experiments on the LASDU dataset and the 2019 IEEE-GRSS Data Fusion Contest dataset show that RFFS-Net achieves a new state-of-the-art classification performance.
