[Termes IGN] validation des donnéesRésumé : (Editeur) Within the great effort being spent on improving GNSS integrity-assurances techniques in order to achieve higher service levels for civil aviation, special attention is being paid to user-based solutions, as reflected in the conclusions of the Federal Aviation Administration's GNSS Evolutionary Architecture Study (GEAS) panel. This article introduces an autonomous technique for computing protection levels based on error isotropy that, unlike conventional methods, adapts in real-time to ranging error size and also handles multiple-fault conditions. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) In the context of 3D reconstruction of wide urban areas, the use of building footprints has shown to be of great help to achieve both robustness and precision. These footprints however often present inconsistencies with the data (more than one building in the footprint, inner courts, superstructures...) This paper presents a fast and efficient algorithm to enhance the building footprint database in order to make subsequent 3D reconstructions easier, more accurate and more robust. It is based on a segmentation energy that is minimized by a split and merge approach. The algorithm is demonstrated on a wide urban area of one square kilometer. We aim at generating a road sign database that can be used for both georeferencing in autonomous vehicle navigation systems and also in high scale 3D city modelling. This paper proposes a robust algorithm that can detect road signs shape and recognizes their types. [Termes IGN] traitement du signalRésumé : (Auteur) An algorithm for considering time-correlated errors in a Kalman filter is presented. The algorithm differs from previous implementations in that it does not suffer from numerical problems; does not contain inherent time latency or require reinterpretation of Kalman filter parameters, and gives full consideration to additive white noise that is often still present but ignored in previous implementations. Simulation results indicate that the application of the new algorithm yields more realistic and therefore useful state and covariance information than the standard implementation. Results from a field test of the algorithm applied to the problem of kinematic differential GPS demonstrate that the algorithm provides slightly pessimistic covariance estimates whereas the standard Kalman filter provides optimistic covariance estimates. [Termes IGN] récepteur GPSRésumé : (Auteur) Many GNSS chip manufacturers software houses, when announcing a new product, include a part of the specifications the numbers of equivalents correlators that boost the power of their acquisition engine. This number is one of the most important figures of merit for a GNSS receiver, especially when compared to the number of physical correlators. Nevertheless, it is not easily defined. Furthermore, this number is often dictated by engineering needs rather than by engineering measurements. It is quite obvious that this number is proportional to the sensitivity of the receiver and inversely proportional to the time to first fix (TTFF), but a precise relationship is difficult to find. In fact, the number of equivalent correlators depends not only on the baseband processing architecture but also on the firmware/software acquisition scheme. Also, this parameter has an intrinsic logarithmic relationship with the sensivity parameter, also it is not obvious to everyone in the GNSS community. In this article, we examine these issues and propose a means to quantify the number of equivalent correlators for traditional GPS receiver architectures. We extend the methodology to the latest architectures for high-sensitivity GPS receivers and for Galileo signal tracking.
