[Termes IGN] signe conventionnelRésumé : (Auteur) Self-localization is the process of identifying one's current position on a map, and it is a crucial part of any wayfinding process. During self-localization the wayfinder matches visually perceptible features of the environment, such as landmarks, with map symbols to constrain potential locations on the map. The success of this visual matching process constitutes an important factor for the success of self-localization. In this research we aim at observing the visual matching process between environment and map during self-localization with real-world mobile eye tracking. We report on one orientation and one self-localization experiment, both in an outdoor urban environment. The gaze data collected during the experiments show that successful participants put significantly more visual attention to those symbols on the map that were helpful in the given situation than unsuccessful participants. A sequence analysis revealed that they also had significantly more switches of visual attention between map symbols and their corresponding landmarks in the environment, which suggests they were following a more effective self-localization strategy. [Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (Auteur)Although the computational burden of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) data processing is nowadays already a big challenge, especially for huge networks, integrated processing of denser networks with data of multi-GNSS and multi-frequency is desired in the expectation of more accurate and reliable products. Based on the concept of carrier range, in this study, the precise point positioning with integer ambiguity resolution is engaged to obtain the integer ambiguities for converting carrier phases to carrier ranges. With such carrier ranges and pseudo-ranges, rigorous integrated processing is realized computational efficiently for the orbit and clock estimation using massive networks. The strategy is validated in terms of computational efficiency and product quality using data of the IGS network with about 460 stations. The experimental validation shows that the computation time of the new strategy increases gradually with the number of stations. It takes about 14 min for precise orbit and clock determination with 460 stations, while the current strategy needs about 82 min. The overlapping orbit RMS is reduced from 27.6 mm with 100 stations to 24.8 mm using the proposed strategy, and the RMS could be further reduced to 23.2 mm by including all 460 stations. Therefore, the new strategy could be applied to massive networks of multi-GNSS and multi-frequency receivers and possibly to achieve GNSS data products of higher quality. For a 3D reconstruction, object point cloud coordinates could be calculated using direct georeferencing (DG) obtained from the direct orientation data of a GPS/INS system. This paper implemented DG approaches for vertical and oblique imagery in the earth centered earth fixed frame (e-frame), local tangent frame (l-frame), and map projection frame (p-frame), respectively. In the p-frame, the earth curvature correction formulas were derived through naturalizing oblique imagery to vertical imagery to achieve a high positioning precision. Five basic stereo-pair models for vertical and oblique imagery were simulated to verify the positioning accuracy of different frames. Simulation experiments showed that DG in the e-frame and l-frame of these five scenarios were rigorous, and no systematic errors were imported by the DG model as these frames are Cartesian. DG in the p-frame has obvious systematic errors which are aroused by the earth curvature and projection deformation unconformity in the vertical and horizontal directions. These errors, however, can be compensated effectively through correcting image coordinates of the oblique imagery by extending the standard image coordinate correction approach and the exterior orientation (EO) height term. After the correction, the absolute positioning error is lower than 1/20 GSD for simulation test-1. In the p-frame, the process is straightforward, and it is convenient for producing maps. For high accuracy DG, though, it is recommended to adopt e-frame or l-frame options.
