[Termes IGN] SlovénieRésumé : (auteur) This paper discusses methodological problems of accurate area determination in the cadaster. The paper contrasts the ambiguous legal definition of the parcel boundary and parcel area in relation to the theoretically well-defined geodetic parcel boundary and the geodetic parcel area on the reference ellipsoid. To align with the real world, parcel area must account for terrain elevation. Various approximate methods for area determination which can be used in the cadaster are tested. A highly accurate method for parcel area computation is proposed, based on an equal-area projection. Considering the geodetic parcel area as a reference, the achievable accuracy of different methods is evaluated. For this analysis, the coordinates of the parcel boundary points are treated as error-free. Finally, the relevance of various systematic errors is discussed in relation to the statistical uncertainty of the parcel area, which could be gained by an a real-time kinematic GNSS survey. A case study is presented for the territory of Slovenia, its georeferencing rules, land demarcation pattern, and characteristics of its topography. Based on the results of this study, some general recommendations for the parcel area determination are given. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GNSSMots-clés libres : Weibull distribution Résumé : (Auteur) This study examines the potential of airborne laser scanning (ALS) to predict diameter distributions in an even-aged plantation of Eucalyptus urograndis in Brazil. The single-species plantation conditions allow different modelling alternatives to be compared without the presence of minor tree species or an understory layer affecting the results. Three modelling alternatives based on the two-parametric Weibull function form; parameter prediction, parameter recovery and distribution matching were tested with a k-nearest neighbour prediction (k-nn) method. We also evaluated a parameter prediction alternative, in which the Weibull distribution was predicted using field attributes. The results showed that ALS information can predict diameter distributions with an error margin of slightly more than 10 per cent of the RMSE of the mean of the third power of diameter, and with error index values between 50 and 60. The degree of accuracy was only slightly improved when the Weibull distribution was predicted using field attributes. According to the accuracy metrics, the differences between modelling alternatives were minor but parameter recovery and k-nn seem to be the most favourable ALS-based prediction methods. To conclude, the results showed a strong relationship between ALS information and diameter distributions in a tropical single-species plantation and we discuss how these results could be applied in other types of forests. Note de contenu : Introduction

GPS/BeiDou observations from 16 reference stations are processed in the zero-difference mode. A least-squares algorithm is developed to determine the vertical total electron content (VTEC) bi-linear function parameters for a 15-minute time interval. The Kriging interpolation method is used to estimate the VTEC values at a 1 °×1 ° grid. The resulting RIMs are validated for PPP applications using GNSS observations from another set of stations. The SF-PPP accuracy and convergence time obtained through the proposed RIMs are computed and compared with those obtained through the international GNSS service global ionospheric maps (IGS-GIM). The results show that the RIMs speed up the convergence time and enhance the overall positioning accuracy in comparison with the IGS-GIM model, particularly the combined GPS/BeiDou-based model.
