[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Linear spectral mixture analysis (LSMA) and regression analysis are the two most conventionally used methods to estimate impervious surfaces at the subpixel scale in an urban area. However, LSMA lacks the sensitivity to pixel brightness, which leads to inter variability of endmembers and affects the ability to distinguish features with a similar spectral signature. This research aims to develop LSMA aided by a regression analysis model to estimate impervious surfaces with higher accuracy. A spectral angle mapping (SAM) based regression analysis model is introduced to reduce errors. Based on high-resolution images and field survey data, the SAM-based regression analysis can estimate non-impervious surface and high-impervious surface densities with high accuracy, while less accurate in impervious surfaces with low/medium density. In contrast, LSMA is able to estimate low/medium-density impervious surfaces with higher accuracy. We propose an improved approach by integrating the two methods, regression analysis aided LSMA, for impervious surface estimation. The proposed method increases the overall accuracy of the impervious surface estimation to 85.24%, which is significantly greater than that of the conventional methods. To improve the accuracy of CA models, various driving factors like spatial proximity and neighbourhood effects have been explored in previous studies, but the inclusion of these factors does not address the directional differences in urban expansion. To address this issue, this study develops a method to measure urban spatial anisotropy (SA) with respect to 18 variables at both the global and local scales, and integrates all these SA variables into a logistic regression-based CA model. The revised CA model is evaluated with a case study for Huizhou, China. The case study shows that the simulation results for the CA model with SA exhibit 89% overall accuracy; compared to CA models that do not consider SA, the revised CA model can improve precision by 5% on newly developed cells. The consideration of SA in CA models proves promising in improving the accuracy of urban expansion simulations. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) En France, les sirènes de sécurité civile du Système d’Alerte et d’Information des Population (SAIP) sont utilisées par les autorités pour signaler une menace imminente ou en cours. Même si l’on connaît leur niveau sonore, il est néanmoins difficile d’évaluer leur audibilité, notamment en milieu urbain à cause du masquage par des sources sonores secondaires. Un protocole expérimental a été déployé autour d’une sirène standard installée sur la commune de Saint-Martin-de-Londres (Hérault) en collaboration avec un groupe d’étudiants de géographie et le Laboratoire de Géographie et d’Aménagement de Montpellier (LAGAM - Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3). Des mesures de niveau sonore pendant l’activation de la source ont été prises grâce à l’application NoiseCapture à différentes distances et sur plusieurs axes par les étudiants. Il ont aussi été invités à remplir un questionnaire sur des informations perceptives de la sirène comme son audibilité, le niveau sonore perçu ou le masquage de la sirène par le passage de véhicules. Une étape de simulation de l’environnement sonore à l’aide du logiciel NoiseModelling a également été réalisée pour comparer les résultats mesurés avec les résultats simulés. Les résultats de l’étude valident l’utilisation de l’outil NoiseModelling pour simuler l’audibilité du signal sonore dans un rayon de 2,8 kilomètres autour de la sirène. The main limitations are encountered in the urban canyons, consisting in a reduced satellite signal availability and a positioning estimation error due to the impact of Line-of-Sight and Non Line-of-Sight multipath phenomenon. This PhD study allows to understand the impact of the multipath phenomenon on the low-cost GNSS receivers and to prove the need of accurate assessment of the multipath error model affecting the GNSS measurements, especially in urban environment. It consists in the investigation, characterization, and finally, exploitation of the multipath error components affecting the pseudorange and pseudorange-rate measurements, of a single frequency, dual constellation GNSS receiver in the urban environment, operating with GPS L1 C/A and Galileo E1 OS signals. The first goal consists in providing a set of methodologies able to identify, isolate and characterize the multipath error components from the measurements under test. However, considering that the isolation of the multipath error is a complex operation due to the superimposed effects of multipath and thermal noise, the final method consists of isolating the joint contribution of multipath and thermal noise components. The isolated multipath and thermal noise error components are firstly classified depending the corresponding received signal /0 values, and, secondly, statistically characterized by means of Probability Density Function, sample mean and sample variance. Also, the temporal and spatial correlation properties of the isolated error components are calculated by means of a methodology which estimates the temporal correlations as a function of the receiver speed. In addition, an image processing methodology based on the application of a sky-facing fish-eye camera provides the determination of an empirical /0 threshold equal to 35 dB-Hz used to qualitatively identify the Non Line- Of-Sight and Line-Of-Sight received signal reception states. The resulting errors are characterized by a nonsymmetrical, positive biased PDF for a /0 lower than 35 dBHz, while they are characterized by a symmetrical and zero-centred PDF for a /0 higher than 35 dB-Hz. Correlation times for pseudoranges are ranged from around 5s for static and very low speed dynamics to around 1s for high-speed dynamics. Correlation times for pseudorange-rates ranged from around 0.5s for static and very low speed dynamics to around 0.2s for high-speed dynamics, due to the data-rate limitations. The second goal consists in exploiting the multipath and thermal noise error models and the LOS/NLOS received signal reception state estimation in a low-complex EKF-based architecture to improve the accuracy of the PVT estimates. This is obtained by implementing some techniques based on the measurement weighting approach to take into account the statistical properties of the error under exam and by the application of a time differenced architecture design to exploit the temporal correlation properties. Positioning performance of the tested solutions surpassed the performances of a simple EKF architecture and are comparable to the performances of a uBlox M8T receiver. [Termes IGN] voie ferréeRésumé : (auteur) Recent developments in the field of rail vehicles increased the demand for accurate and up-to-date 3D maps of rail track networks. Collision avoidance systems, semi-automated, or fully autonomous rail vehicles strongly benefit from such high quality maps. In this work, we present a fully automatic, photogrammetric method for the 3D reconstruction of rail track segments. More specifically, the center line of the rail track is reconstructed as a georeferenced and continuous 3D cubic spline. The main data inputs are collected while driving the rail vehicle along the segment: (a) images from a front-looking camera and (b) observations from a low-cost GNSS receiver. Optional data inputs can be used to increase the reconstruction accuracy, namely (c) an a priori rail track (e.g. from OpenStreetMap), (d) a digital height model (DHM), and (e) ground control points (GCPs). The rail track is estimated in post processing (offline) by a weighted least squares adjustment (LSA). The core of the LSA is the bundle adjustment of images. It is extended by additional geometric constraints which exploit the geometric relations between the rail track, the rail vehicle, and the camera trajectory. As a consequence, in contrast to many related methods, the rails need not to be visible in the images to map the rail track. We applied the method to reconstruct a 13 km long tram line in Vienna (Austria). We found that the local geometry of the track can be well reconstructed from the image sequence. However, if the low-cost GNSS receiver is used as single georeferencing source, the track shows a strong drift behavior. This drift can significantly be minimized over the entire track if the above mentioned optional data inputs are used.
