[Termes IGN] transformation linéaire directeRésumé : (Auteur) We propose using the feature points of road lamp and lane to register mobile mapping system (MMS) LiDAR points and panoramic image sequence. Road lamp and lane are the common objects on roads; the spatial distributions are regular, and thus our registration method has wide applicability and high precision. First, the road lamp and lane were extracted from the LiDAR points by horizontal grid and reflectance intensity and then by optimizing the endpoints as the feature points of road lamp and lane. Second, the feature points were projected onto the panoramic image by initial parameters and then by extracting corresponding feature points near the projection location. Third, the direct linear transformation method was used to solve the registration model and eliminate mismatching feature points. In the experiments, we compare the accuracy of our registration method with other registration methods by a sequence of panoramic images. The results show that our registration method is effective; the registration accuracy of our method is less than 10 pixels and averaged 5.84 pixels in all 31 panoramic images (4000 × 8000 pixels), which is much less than that of the 56.24 pixels obtained by the original registration method. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) In the application of machine learning to geographic object based image analysis, several parameters influence overall classifier performance. One of the first parameters is segmentation size—for example, how many pixels should be grouped together to form an image object. Often, trial and error methods are used to obtain segmentation parameters that best delineate the borders of real world objects. Several attempts at automated methods have produced promising results, but manual intervention is still necessary. Meanwhile, numerous measures of segmentation quality have been defined, but their relationship to classifier performance is not then directly shown. For example, as measures of segmentation quality improve, do classification results improve as well? Our work considers the problem of building classification in high resolution aerial imagery of urban areas. Based on user defined training polygons generated with or without a reference segmentation, we have found several measures of segmentation quality and feature performance that can help users narrow the range of appropriate segmentations. Furthermore, our work finds that given this range, performance of machine learning algorithms remains relatively constant for any given segmentation as long as features used for classification are chosen correctly. We find that the range of scale parameters capable of producing an accurate classification is much broader than typically assumed and trial and error methods for finding this parameter may be an acceptable approach. [Termes IGN] Washington D.C.Résumé : (auteur) Bike‐sharing systems have been widely used in major cities across the world. As bike borrowing and return at different stations in different periods are not balanced, the bikes in a bike‐sharing system need to be redistributed frequently to rebalance the system. Therefore, traffic flow forecasting of the bike‐sharing system is an important issue, as this is conducive to achieving rebalancing of the bike system. In this article, we present a new traffic flow prediction approach based on the temporal links in dynamic traffic flow networks. A station clustering algorithm is first introduced to cluster stations into groups. A temporal link prediction method based on the dynamic traffic flow network method (STW+M) is then proposed to predict the traffic flow between stations. In our method, the non‐negative tensor decomposition and time‐series analysis model capture the rich information (temporal variabilities, spatial characteristics, and weather information) of the across‐clusters transition. Then, a temporal link prediction strategy is used to forecast potential links and weights in the traffic flow network by investigating both the network structure and the results of tensor computations. In order to assess the methods proposed in this article, we have used the data of bike‐sharing systems in New York and Washington, DC to conduct bike traffic prediction and the experimental results have shown that our method produces the lowest root mean square error (RMSE) and mean square error (MSE). Compared to four prediction methods from the literature, our RMSE and MSE of the two datasets have been lowered by an average of 2.55 (Washington, DC) and 2.41 (New York) and 3.35 (Washington, DC) and 2.96 (New York), respectively. The results show that the proposed approach improves predictions of traffic flow.
