[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) This paper presents a skyline-based approach to enhance the visualization of a new construction project in augmented reality. We propose to process the video stream acquired with a mobile phone to register the real buildings with a 3D city model. We first combine the data acquired with the device’s instruments to estimate a rough user’s pose in the world coordinates system. Then, we use this estimated pose to generate a synthetic image of the user’s view from which we calculate a virtual skyline. In parallel, we extract a real skyline from the real-time video stream. Finally, we match these real and virtual skylines to correct the user’s pose (six degrees of freedom) and thus generate a more realistic augmented reality view. We evaluate the precision and the processing time of our approach using 2D and 3D registration algorithms, as well as with a novel double 2D strategy. [Termes IGN] zone arideRésumé : (Auteur) This article explores using satellite images to monitor spatiotemporal variations in temperature related to urban form. Land surface temperatures (LST) were estimated from Landsat images (1986–2016) and the land cover and urban form LST were extracted by using samples representing different urban forms/cover types. A transect of 20 km was taken across the city to derive the LST across the different land cover types. Urban heat island index and statistical analysis were carried out to understand the influence of urban form and cover on changes in surface temperature. The results are compared with temperature regimes of an industrial city (Yanbu) to depict differences in the two cities. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) shows variations, at 0.01 level of significance, in the LST values of the city centre, high-rise, low-density, vegetation, desert and industrial land-use types. The outcome of the study is valuable for decision-makers in achieving sustainable urban development. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Low-sampling-rate floating car data (FCD) are more challenging than those with high-sampling-rate FCD for map matching (MM) algorithms. Some MM algorithms for low-sampling-rate FCD lack sufficient efficiency nor accuracy, especially related to complex urban road networks. This paper proposes a new method named the trajectory restoration algorithm, which is based on geometry MM algorithms to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The proposed algorithm adopts the modified A* shortest path algorithm to reduce the number of function calls and fully considers road network topology and historical matched points to improve its accuracy. We test the efficiency and accuracy of the trajectory restoration algorithm with FCD data for the complex urban road networks in Beijing. The results have strong continuity which greatly improves the utilization of FCD. We show that the proposed algorithm outperforms related MM methods in efficiency and accuracy and its robustness to restore trajectories of both high and low sampling rates in complex urban road networks.
